About this resort
Located in Au Sable Charter, this attractive resort for $107 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Studio Type Cabin with kitchenette right on the beach! Beautiful Lake Huron views with private grill and picnic table shared firepit and sandy bottom lakeshore. Sofa, refrigerator/freezer, stove, microwave, sink, coffee maker and toaster make staying in as much fun as going out. Unit is number 4 of 6 in a six unit resort. One bedroom, one bath studio kitchenette right on the beach, sunrise view from bed! This unit has one large bedroom with one bed in it. The couch is also in the same room that can pull out into a full size bed to accommodate two more to sleep but it is a tight squeeze. The kitchen is connected without a door as seen in the pictures. This unit is perfect for a couple or a small family and has everything you need for a weekend getaway or fun family vacation. Leave your cares at home and lull yourselves to sleep while listening to the crash of the Lake Huron waves from your bed in this charming rustic adorable room right on the beach! Not recommended for four adults, sleeps 3 comfortably. Pets welcome but MUST be non-aggressive toward all people and other pets. This resort is located just south of Oscoda. - Serradella Golf Course and Tawas Creek Golf and Country Club are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Huron-Manistee National Forest and Tawas Point State Park.

Beachfront unit. Kitchen well equipped. Could have used extra blankets. Very cold at night. There was some kind of heater on the wall but I couldn't get it to work. Nice that they allowed pets.

I loved the location of this property. Right on the beach. Beautiful view. The accommodations were a bit rough. Flies (lots) to deal with on entering the tiny bungalow. Thin walls so every sound was amplified. Only a bed (comfy) and sofa (that needs to be replaced - I wouldn’t sit on it). No place to relax inside. The kitchen and bathroom were fine and the shower was awesome. So there’s that. Mostly you’re outdoors so a lot of this is really just about comfort in the overnight hours or if there’s inclement weather. I’d go again now just knowing it’s a bit rough. Not expecting more, it’s just fine. The essentials and nothing more.

This was a perfect little spot for my kids and I! It was so nice not having to pack up and go anywhere we had everything we needed right there. Hearing the sounds of the waves with the windows open was so relaxing, all the neighbors were wonderful as well! I will definitely be coming back!

Everything was great except for the wobbly floor by the front door that I kept forgetting about when I stepped on the floor the shelf would rock back and forth and I kept thinking it was going to fall over, the other thing was a cloudy window I couldn't see the water from the kitchen table while we were eating and the only reason I said anything about it was because it was a little cool while we were there and we didn't really get outside but thats not Tim and Nancy's fault other than that it was good time,great location

We couldn’t have happier with our stay. The cabin was as clean as could be and cute as a button. It felt so private but we were also super close to downtown Oscoda and a short drive to all of the area attractions. Check in and out was a breeze. 100% will be staying again.

We enjoyed the view and waterfront beach experience, which made it all worthwhile. The inside is cute and comfortable, though a couple unfortunate aspects dimmed our view overall: 1.) Flies inside. Likely a result of windows being left open prior to our arrival, we had an infestation of flies. Killed at least a couple dozen within first night. After we'd closed windows, that helped cut the number down; though several were inside our entire 3 day stay. Not something that could've necessarily been avoided by owner, just unfortunate. 2.) A decent sized spot on floor by the door was quite soft and felt as if it was soggy, about to collapse. This seemed to indicate a need for floor repair. We put a towel down to mark the spot to avoid as much as possible, but difficult because it's right in front of doorway. That being said, we enjoyed the experience for the most part especially with the waves, beach views.

My Husband and I loved our vacation here! It's the perfect "upnorth" experience! The view is beautiful, the beach is great and there is even internet so my husband could do some work when necessary! We will definitely go back!

Clean beach, sand up to your door without a retaining wall (due to water levels over the past 1-2 years) = priceless and you get that here in #4 at Lazy Fish. I’ve been coming to Oscoda for about 30 years and I prefer the nostalgic feel,……And that’s a guarantee here. If you’re looking for the Taj Mahal, this isn’t the spot, but I say that in a great way. A northern MI cabin on the lake shouldn’t be decked out & fancy. With that being said (and I said this to Tim & Nancy directly, not being negative/passive aggressive online), there are some updates necessary. The pullout couch in #4 is being replaced, wish it was before we arrived! Needed more linens, but Angel got them to us the next morning (thanks). Couple other suggestions, reclining lawn chairs, sand games (ladder golf or corn hole), kids sand toys, etc. —> all of which are at their other property, Miami Beach. I suggested a Dollar Tree dish tub at everyone’s door to clean feet before entering cabin (thanks so much, they got us one before we left!!!). Bottom line, it’s perfectly imperfect with the nostalgic cabin vibe! Tim & Nancy are WONDERFUL and literally will do everything in their power to fix an issue and/or provide what you need within minutes. I only listed the suggestions because I feel we all can strive to do and be better! I would come back for sure, especially if they continue to update (oh and ceiling fans in Lazy Fish #4 like the other units!!). Thanks for allowing us to make lifetime memories on your property!

Perfect get away with the perfect sunrise view
Staying at the Lazy Fish was sure a treat! To be right on the water and to be able to watch the sunrise each morning was just beautiful. Centrally located to Tawas and Oscoda was another bonus perk. From just relaxing on the beach to exploring the area, my time at the Lazy Fish was exactly what I needed to rest and renew!

Our experience was great on this private beach. Enjoyed our time and our dog loved being around the other pets - two neighboring couples with their pets on the same property. Peaceful. Refreshing.

Wonderful stay
We had a wonderful week stay at the property. The cabin was very clean and cozy for the two of us. Took the kayak out and had wonderful nights around the fire with some of the other guests.

My wife and I were celebrating our 1 year anniversary and I found this location. It has everything you need for a peaceful and relaxing getaway. It was secluded and right on the water, which we loved! The site was clean and the owners were very nice and helpful. We never even left the site because we wanted to be by the water and have a campfire, convieniently right in front of the front door! Highly recommended site and will definitely be booking with Tom and Nancy again!

A great getaway for a mental retreat and refresh

Unit #4I must have made a mistake when reserving this cottage because I did think it had A/C but on arrival we realized it did not. So if you are reading this review please know there is no A/C, with the windows open like another reviewer stated it was quite stuffy in the cottage. The windows above the bed from what I could tell could not open since the bed frame covered it. I would imagine if that opened fully with the other windows from the lake side open and the fan might have made a difference.The view from the cabin on the deck is beautiful. Sunrise was very special. If you have littles or kids who like to swim or play in the water than it’s probably a good place for you. Bring your chairs and a bigger umbrella. Besides having no A/C there were a few things I wanted to address. The pull out bed is very outdated and the mattress was not great and did not have linens as we were told. I did mention to the owners there were none before we headed out to dinner and they did say they were in the bottom drawer or at least thats what the cleaners should have left. When we returned from dinner we checked and there was only a pillow. My daughter slept on the couch for the two nights we were there. I would definitely replace that mattress in the off season. Another thing might be to upgrade the electrical. I know that’s a big cost but the fire hazard of multiple plugs into multiple cords to one wall outlet when a brand new power strip could help with that issue would be safer.We were supposed to be there 5 nights but after 2 nights could not handle not having A/C so we left. Since this was my mistake in not realizing they didn't have A/C I did not or would not ask for a refund. I feel this place shows a lot of promise though. Another thing that might help others is organize a list of restaurants or grocery stores in the area and leave a copy in the cottages.

It indeed is "rustic" but we could see that improvements are being made and with involved owners it will only get better! We had an excellent time and would book again.
