You can marvel at the hundreds of bird species including the endangered Red Knot as they stop to feed on horseshoe crab eggs on their way north. They are completely harmless but can cause the water's edge to be littered with their shells. *Watch for the just-hatched baby turtles headed to the Marvel Preserve just behind us in early summer. Slaughter Beach is surrounded by wildlife preserves on all three non-water sides. Eagles and Ospreys can be seen nesting at the south end. ***Please note: Slaughter Beach is perfect for nature lovers and anyone that is looking for beauty and a place for peace and quiet. This is a residential beach town and can feel rustic, remote, and deserted for some folks. Others will love being away from the hustle and bustle of the busier beach towns. ***

The house is perfect for small families and right on the water as advertised. Both the front and back yard are fenced in with ample outdoor furniture and grill. The porch is lovely with wrap around screened in windows, we did not use the bed in this space but a nice mostly private option for those who may need it. Very mermaid themed for all mermaid lovers.

Thank you for our stay. We really loved the house, it was very quaint. Rhodie, our dog, also enjoyed it. He mentioned that the floor was a perfect comfort level. The yard was nice and the location is near some fun activities. We really enjoyed going to Lewes. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit the Delaware Beach.

Adorable mermaid-themed home on quiet, sandy beach. Fenced-in yard is perfect for dogs and small children. Beautiful sunrises. Warm, shallow water is great for beach play. Dog-friendly beach. Great place to unplug. Nicely appointed.

This property is remote (15-20 min from anything) but worth the almost private beach just steps Grimm the back door. Bring bug spray (at least in July) we had one day with a breeze (no bugs) and part of a day without a breeze and a little buggy but still so worth it. Super clean, great party for up to 6 people. There's a bed on the enclosed porch but there's no AC out there. We didn't need that bed but you could use it in cooler months. Don't hesitate, book it.

House was small but had everything we needed. The flys in the house and bugs outside all the time were terrible. The porch is a waste of space. Too hot to hang out there. Fenced in yard was a nice touch.
