This was a fun urban apartment to stay in, with the soaring ceilings and "urban loft" feel. With a car, it was only 10 minutes to get to Carnegie Mellon University or the Phipps Conservatory and Botanic Gardens, which were wonderful to visit. Communication from the "host"/management company was plentiful. We appreciated being able to check in both to the building and our individual apartment with a door code. It wasn't too hard to find free street parking a block away, but we also took advantage of a $20/night garage parking option for our first night, since we had our student's stuff in the car. Although we didn't take advantage of the kitchen or washer/dryer, it was nice to have those options available. Overall, this was a cheaper alternative to the local hotels that were charging higher room rates and parking fees for college move-in weekend -- and we will probably stay there again for family visit weekend.
The place is listed as sleeping 4, but I think the sleeping arrangements beyond the king-sized bed in the primary bedroom leave something to be desired. Our teen took the sofa bed in the living room area (which is shared with the kitchen in an open floorplan), and it wasn't your standard pull-out sofa bed, which made it a little hard to use the fitted sheet. She was upset by a yellowish/tan stain on the comforter provided, so ended up not using it that night. (Once we told management, they did having the cleaning service drop off a new comforter the very next day!). Also, the building entrance itself is on a somewhat rundown street/alley -- there's a gym and kids' activity center on the first two floors, and a Porsche car dealer (!) on the corner, so it didn't give off the vibe of unsafe, but not really a posh & polished neighborhood that you might enjoy hanging out in. This is where having a car (or Uber/Lyft) to get to other areas of Squirrel Hill, Shadyside, and Oakland nearby came in handy.

This property is excellent! We loved the decor! The towels, sheets, pillows, sofa and bed were all very high-quality. We liked having two televisions, an icemaker, and a washer and dryer. Frequently, all of these things are not found in one bedroom apartments. The apartment is unexpectedly quite large! We appreciated the little direction signs around the apartment. We didn’t have to try to figure out how to work anything because the signs clearly told us what to do. I loved the super high ceilings and sky lights!! We were very impressed by this apartment. We easily found street parking close to the building, but we are going to try the paid parking spot for future visits. The location was wonderful for us as we were in town to see our son at Pitt which was only 1 mile away. There are also pizza places and a Dunkin very close by. We are very happy that we found this place, and we will definitely be coming back!
We have nothing negative to say!
