This is a nice property in Hamilton Cove. You get access to a 6 person golf cart. Two bedrooms are nice and the deck is big with two tables overlooking the Pacific plus 2 other chairs out there. Family room couches are great and the kitchen is pretty well stocked with whatever you need. Appliances are new.

Beautiful view (no exaggeration in VRBO add); beautiful community; very close to all the action in Avalon; master bedroom very comfortable with sounds of the waves and cool temperature; everything was clean; amenities more than expected. The golf cart that was provided was a lifesaver and was very economical and fun to get around in.
Only several complaints: the 2nd bedroom was stuffy and hot and the floor fan in the room sounded like a freight train; evenings very warm with no AC in the unit; 2nd bedroom (which I was in) had very little room to maneuver in and lack of shelving for clothes; lamp in 2nd BR was very glitchy and wouldn't stay lit; microwave didn't work at the end of our stay (too late to call property contact); were swarmed by bees (told it was "that time of year").
We had a great time. The Jazz festival was terrific, and I'm really not trying to discourage anyone from renting this place, but at the very least install some AC units in the 2nd BR and living area.

65 to be exact. However, after you ascend those stairs you enter a wonderful 2-bed, 2 ensuite bath, fully-equpped apartment with all the amenities and an incredible eastern view. That view is available from the living room and front bedroom, but is best appreciated from the terrace which has two bistro table sets, a full-size gas Weber grille and the best views in Avalon. Hampton Cove is a fully featured resort with its own beach and piers, swimming pool, exercise facility, and tennis courts. It is a short drive from Avalon proper by complimentary golf cart. Avalon has many great restaurants, and a Von's supermarket, so we dined out twice, cooked in once, and enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck. This is the American equivalent of an Italian coastal village, and it is wonderful. Highly recommended.

I wish i could give this property 10 stars, it was absolutely amazing, we had such a great time.
Everything really was perfect, very clean, the view cannot be beat and every amenity fit our needs. I recommend this property to anyone visiting Catalina! We can't wait to go back.

Two HOA guards at the gate to Hamilton were rude and delayed us unnecessarily. The first guard held us up 20minutes even though I had all the paperwork. The second guard said it was against HOA rules to bring in a guest. I really like Hamilton and have stayed there many times, but I might start looking for a place in town.

Absolutely beautiful location. Best spot on the island if you ask me. Ideal for families or romantic stay if you prefer not being in the center of town. This property was tastefully appointed with classic seashore decor and stocked with everything you could possibly desire; complete kitchen, board games, ample beach towels, comfortable furniture, and a golf cart for transportation. The manager for our stay was professional, friendly, and quick to respond when we had questions. Absolutely loved it and will definitely return.

The place is just as advertised. It is well stocked and well maintained and very clean. Beds are very comfortable and it has a large very comfy couch as well. The views are incredible. We saw dolphins daily from the balcony. When we arrived the golf cart had a flat but Amber was quick to respond and had it fixed within 2 hours on a Monday after 5pm which is no small feat. The kids loved it and we would definately return

There is no elevator and we had to take our suitcases up 100 very steep stairs and it was difficult to locate our Villa. Our first impression walking inside the Villa was that nothing had been done to the Villa in 40 years and it was very old and the furniture was very uncomfortable. The internet did not work so we had to restart the server. The outdoor furniture was rickety and dangerous to sit in. We only stayed a night (out of the 4 nights booked) and would not stay here again.

The Good: Amazing views, well appointed, cutely decorated, awesome electric 6 person golf cart.
The Bad: 1)The stairs. There are 70 stairs up several steep staircases to get to your property. Not a problem for me and my girlfriend but definitely wish we would have know this prior to bringing her 78 year old mother. 2) Place was advertised as having a sauna which was one of the primary reasons we chose this property(talked with the maintenance manager who said it’s been out for a year and there is no one on the island to fix it). 3) No AIr Conditioning 4) Dock is not working.
The Ugly: Hamilton Cove DOES NOT ALLOW ANY VISITORS OTHER THAN REGISTERED GUESTS. My friend and his brother very nicely sailed his boat over to meet us and take us out. As a thank you I wanted to have them over and make them dinner. Tried contacting the host to add them as visitors and I was told it was not possible. I didn’t think it would be a problem as they weren’t staying overnight and the property says it holds 6 guests which we wouldn’t be exceeding. Was told the Homeowners Association is super strict. Just wanted to share a meal with my friends. I wish they could be more flexible.
In Summary:
It’s a wonderful place to stay as long as the steps don’t scare you(not a big deal for me or my girlfriend), don’t need A/C, or don’t want to sauna or have guests that you didn’t register visit.

Sometimes the real thing doesn’t match up to photos, but in this case the real thing was even better! The view from the condo was SPECTACULAR. The condo had everything we needed. Falling asleep to the crashing waves in a super comfortable bed provided the most peaceful sleep. The golf cart was fantastic. All 6 of us fit comfortably and it was a convenient way to tour the town. I booked our family trip for next year before we even left the condo. Can’t wait for a repeat of a wonderful vacation!

This was our first time renting this property and by and large everything was perfect. View and area was awesome. Grandkids loved snorkeling and time with cousins. Would definitely book again!

We stayed as a family of 3 adults and 2 children. The villa was well appointed with plenty of space for everyone and exactly as in the pictures. The views from the balcony, living room and main bedroom were absolutely stunning! You can hear the ocean from the living room and main bedroom which is wonderfully peaceful and relaxing. The location within the complex is super close to the pool and just a short distance from the Hamilton Cove beach. We thoroughly enjoyed BBQing dinner in the evenings and there was ample propane without worry of running out. Probably our favorite feature was the awesome, brand new, 6 seat electric golf cart that came along with the villa! It was super convenient and tons of fun driving the short distance into Avalon. A golf cart is a must and this was probably the nicest one on the island. We loved this villa and would definitely rent it again.

Gorgeous views
The condo was beautiful. Beach vibes throughout and thoughtfully decorated. The host was very responsive. We loved the property and all that it has to offer. We just wish our stay was longer. We met the loveliest families at the pool. Everyone was very friendly. The brand new 6 person golf cart was one of our favorite things. The one thing I wish I knew before I booked was that it's 5 flights of stairs up to the condo which was a challenge with luggage and our elderly dad. All in all, though, we loved our stay and the views more than made up for any challenges.

Closet’s were stuffed full of stuff, shower enclosures were rusted and need to be replaced, shower mats were grungy. The price was outrageous for the quality of the condo. Patio chairs need repair.

Amazing Views and very spacious
Hamilton cove offers amazing views and a very safe and secure accommodations. It's a gated community and the views are breathtaking, Units are older but this unit had a more updated feel with the furnishings, TV and even the kitchen was well stocked with good dishes and appliances.
The challenges are there are no elevators and getting your stuff to your unit was a major challenge. We came in on a private boat and there is a dock you can moor to at Hamilton Cove which is much more manageable than docking downtown. No one told us this so we didn;t utilize it incoming but used it outgoing. If you come in through a public boat like Catalina Flyer then you can utilize the baggage service which is $12 a bag. We couldn't use them because you have to be on that side of the unloading dock.
If you have knee problems or you are a little out of shape I don't recommend Hamilton Cove. There are way too many steps for an elderly and/or someone who is not in shape. I could never bring my mother there. We had 12 bags because we were planning on making meals instead of going out and it was a major challenge getting our bags to our unit.
Once you are in your unit you will love the views and serenity. The pillow cases and pillow smelled a little moldy probably from the ocean mist? I didn't know the washer and dryer were outside the unit. I still rated it a 5 because the views were excellent and the unit was clean and well kept. Bathrooms are dated and lighting in the kitchen is not great but not enough to complain about. If you don't mind the numerous stairs with no elevator and the hassle of getting to your unit then you would be happy staying at this unit. I combed through all the rentals and this is by far one of the nicer units available.
