The stay was warm, homely and a rare opportunity to meet others, interact and converse. I find these days stays are impersonal and sterile. But we had such a special time here, full of heart and the best meal we had in Rye. The breakfast in the beautiful central kitchen was outstanding. The location is excellent too. Our host was too wonderful and we shall be back again.
Nothing really. The place is very homely, and that is exactly what we were looking for.

The location was excellent - in the centre of town. The room was large, with a very comfortable king-size bed and bathroom attached. Rachael, our host, could not have been more charming and helpful. Each morning we had a delicious cooked breakfast with tea or coffee, fruit juice, and fresh bread.
There's nothing I didn't like about our stay. However, for those who care about such things, there is no TV in the room. Also, there's a community hall next door which is overlooked by the room we stayed in. On the night we arrived there was a youth club using the hall.

Beautiful and historic home with a wonderful host Rachel. Breakfast ingredients were bought fresh each day for a fabulous meal. Great location.
Perhaps two keys instead of one.

Excellent, full of variety but 1+ hour to eat as so much food which was all prepared fresh
Room was small, 'tatty', not clean or cleaned, no loo rolls, bins not emptied each day, shower curtain had to be 'wedged' behind taps, really disappointing, although had a view of all the tourists on Mermaid Street taking photos of the front of the house
