It was very central and we liked the traditional style rather than a bland chain hotel. The breakfast was good and we appreciated the individual touches which, again, represent the family business approach, e.g. home made juice and jams. Although it was unbearably hot in the attic at the time, they attempted to alleviate this by placing fans there and the staff were concerned for our welfare. There wasn’t really much more they could have done to counteract the heat.
I was well aware that the studio was at the top of the building and that there would be a number of stairs. That’s not a problem as such, but the reason we won’t be returning is because we were unsure of any emergency escape routes in the event of fire. The stairs are wooden. We were concerned not to see any fire extinguishers or smoke alarms. Maybe there were some, but they need to be visible and we were surprised that there were no notices about what to do if fire broke out. The TV didn’t work, but that didn’t bother us.

Very old historical house which brought us so much pleasure to stay in! The hosts are amazing, location is just in the city centre but it’s not noisy outside. Private parking was very useful and the breakfast was great! Highly recommended!

The location and staff and parking.
Room was small. No room for suitcases, no closet, had to walk up 2 1/2 flights of stairs.
