Absolutely amazing staff - warm welcome, very friendly, helpful. Maim hotel basic but clean and restaurant - both food and service were exceptional! We never experience such a lovely treatments in any hotels as in Ariston. Hotel was located close to the metro and train station, 20 min walk to the main Omonoia Square. Metro to the old town was 1.20 euro and it took 10 min. Taxi was about 5.50 euro. 1 hrs from the Athens Airport - taxi shuttle for 3 people plus luggage was around 50.00 euros one way. All transfers booked separately to hotel stay.
Our accommodation was suppose to be suite and it was located in older part of the hotel where the individual apartments were. It means 2 minutes walking from the main building which was not a problem however we would prefer to e in the main building. Our suite, which costs more i suppose, was nothing like on the pictures - bit dated, with paint coming off the walls and bathroom doors not always shutting properly. But it had new windows meaning it was quiet in the night and it was cleaned daily.
