About this apartment rental
Enjoy beachfront living during your stay at this 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom vacation rental condo in Destin! The condo is located in the gated community, Silver Dunes Condominiums and is perfect for up to 6 guests who want to spend their days lounging by the community pool or swimming in the Gulf of Mexico. You’ll also be within driving distance of many other area attractions when you’re interested in taking a break from the sun! Amenities include tennis and basketball courts, swimming pool, beach volley ball, a large grass courtyard, summer family activities, and more. Silver Dunes’ large private beach offers beach service from March thru November, which can be reserved onsite.
Beach Service – If you didn’t pre-reserve beach chairs, just stop by the beach hut or call the Excel team at In addition to chairs and umbrellas, Excel offers kayaks and paddle boards for rent, as well as an assortment of snacks and drinks.
Tennis, Basketball, Pickleball, and Shuffleboard – Forget your gear? No worries, you can check out rackets, balls, and more at the front desk at no charge!
Grilling Out – In the busy months of spring and summer, many families opt to grill out rather than go out. We have eight charcoal grills available. There are several seafood markets nearby, including Blalock’s which is just a block to the west (p.s., their tuna dip is a must try!).
Fitness Center – Did you know we have a fitness center in the Penthouse building? Just stop by the front desk to borrow the key.
Family Activities – There’s always something fun on the itinerary at Silver Dunes:
• Annual Easter Egg Hunt in the Courtyard – Easter Sunday, 9 am in the courtyard
• Scavenger Hunts – Throughout the Spring – for children of all ages! Just stop by the office to pick up your scavenger hunt necessities. Once you’ve collected everything, stop back by the office to pick a surprise from the Silver Dunes treasure chest!
• Movies in the Courtyard – Bring a picnic blanket, your beach chairs, and join us on Mondays at dusk throughout June and July. We show a different family-friendly movie each week.
• S’mores Nights with Live Music at the Pool –Wednesday nights are awesome at Silver Dunes! Throughout June and July, the firepits will be out, s’mores roasting, and tunes playing!

Wonderful!! Clean, comfortable, well stocked unit. Silver Dunes is in a great location. Within walking and a short drive to many restaurants and shops. Staff friendly and welcoming. Beach is great. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets and beautiful white sands. Just a great experience!

This two bedroom/two bath condo was very clean and seemed to be recently updated. Well equipped kitchen.Living room area furniture was very comfortable with a great tv for watching Thanksgiving football games!Beds were very comfortable as well.We would definitely stay in this condo again!

Beautiful property, super kid friendly! Pictures on site from this unit are a tad deceiving. Palm tree blocks view of pool area. We will be back but would be interested in a different unit.

There were positives and negatives about this unit, but paying over $400 a night.... It’s not worth the negatives in my opinion.
PROS: plenty of room, cold A/C, very comfortable beds (going to actually order this mattress for home), fully stocked kitchen, quiet gated place, felt very secure, very manicured grounds & clean pool, & great staff and entertainment crew :)
NEUTRAL: complex is located on the beach however our room was at the opposite end of the massive grassy courtyard so it was quite a walk to the actual beach. Condo was 1/2 updated and 1/2 1975... if you’re going to update... update.
CONS: the lighting and electrical were terrible. It was very dim even with all the lights on. These need upgraded if anything for safety reasons. Light switches were covered and extension cords were ran everywhere and stapled along the trim. It was dangerous and tacky. Main lighting fixtures were old dusty sconces with candelabra bulbs. Half the sockets didn’t work. No ceiling fans. Light bulbs were burned out in several places. The whole place was very dusty and the toilets were dirty. We had to clean them before we used them. Counter had crusted food on it when we arrived and we cleaned that as well. There was a dust ruffle put on the guest bed as the top sheet instead of an actual sheet. The cleaning crew did not do their job before we got there.
Equipment in ‘fitness center’ desperately needs updated. Trees outside this balcony need cut down so you can see the courtyard and get a view of the beach. I have several photos but unable to attach them to this review.
