About this house rental
One of a kind 1930s historic home, newly renovated and transformed into a beautiful secluded getaway. All new luxury finishes, while holding its traditional charm and beauty. No events permitted, sorry.
Rooftop deck with stunning sunrise views of the Atlantic ocean, Historical Downtown St Augustine, and sunsets over the intracoastal waterway. Overlook the marsh and the new dock from the 38 jet Clarity Balance 7 spa from MasterSpa with while absorbing the national geographic like eco system that includes nearly a dozen species of birds, crabs, and decent fishing for redfish, trout and more. All this with privacy offered with the 2 acre property the home sits on. It is short walk to the beach and 3 miles from downtown St George street. Enjoy the scenery and relax indoors with 20 foot wall of floor to ceiling windows. All new mid century modern furniture throughout the home. The kitchen boasts premier appliances that will excite any cooking enthusiasts to create meals while overlooking the marsh and water. I thought the house was very charming. My husband loved that he could make a cup of coffee and go straight outside and do a little fishing. If I could suggest anything to improve the stay, it would be having at least one king sized bed in the house and the shower needs a little work.

We enjoyed our stay at the Shire. While not exactly as pictured, it’s a bit older than it looks in the pic specifically the bottom bedroom and half bath which is actually
In a laundry room, it is still a great place to stay and the dock into the marsh cannot be beat. Would stay again.

The location of the property is its best selling point. Unfortunately the home feels unmaintained, and not very comfortable. The AC only has one zone, so your left with a downstairs that is too cold, or an upstairs that is too hot. The exterior door is very difficult to open and close and does not seal to the outside. This left space for bugs to be inside which isn't all that appealing. The exterior chairs and cushions were dirty and old, the one metal chair on the dock was rusting with pealing paint.
