The cottage was just lovely - cozy and inviting, with plenty of warmth to keep us comfortable during our stay. We were so grateful for the wood burning stove in the living room, which had been thoughtfully prepared and lit by our host before we even arrived! The area was wonderfully peaceful and secluded, with the nearest town just a short 5-10 minute drive away. We were delighted to find that the town had a well-stocked Co-Op, as well as several fantastic restaurants to choose from. And for those who enjoy a good stroll through nature, there were some truly beautiful forest walks within just 20 minutes' drive of the cottage! All in all, we couldn't have asked for a better getaway spot - highly recommended!
We had a wonderful stay and truly enjoyed ourselves! Though if I were to offer any constructive feedback, it would be regarding the directions. We did end up going slightly off the beaten path, but thankfully our thoughtful host gave us a call and walked us through how to get there. It wasn't a major issue by any means and didn't dampen our overall happiness with our experience.

The house was extremely clean and the kitchen had everything you needed. The beds were all comfortable and clean too.
Very quiet at night.
Lots of nice places to eat/takeaway locally.
The area is actually lovely but we had to really search to find walks and places for the dog to get a bit of a run around!
We booked this as a dog friendly holiday only to be met on arrival by the owner who noted there were free range chickens and her dog might be in heat so we had to ensure our dog was on the leash at all times. Which I don’t mind but the garden was not accessed directly from the house, so even letting him out quickly meant shoes, jacket and leash and the garden was pitch dark. It also made us very nervous about him possibly getting out!
The house also requested that dogs don’t go upstairs- with no way to stop them doing this except lock all doors or leave him in the kitchen area!
The cottage is right in the middle of the owners land, next to the main house, across from a garage/barn, next to another barn and chickens. So whilst the estate is secluded this property isn’t in any way, it didn’t feel private at all!
Had I known there was no access to the garden directly and that there were birds on the grounds I wouldn’t have booked this property - I have a working cocker spaniel!
