Hoping for a better one!

The room and bedding were clean.

This is advertised as as bed & breakfast. When you walk in the door, there is a list and on it is stated that No breakfast is served. You can have coffee or tea. Each room in the house is let out to different people. We were next to some that came in a 2am and didn't go to bed before 5:30am, walking up and down the hallway, banging door, showering, boiling the kettle. I know this is not the fault of the B&B but just a warning that you are very definitely sharing and quiet hours are not upheld. The lady did give us a discount on the 2nd night due to the disturbance. The hostess was knocking on the door while we were still sleeping to get paid. The 2nd night we stayed we were in a room downstairs with no window (pretty sure that isn't even legal) The family sleep at the end of the hallway separated by a sheet draped up. We used the family bathroom which had hair all over the floor. The uncovered garbage can showed that "it was that time of month" for someone using it. There was no mirror on the wall. Books all down the hallway, so navigating to the bathroom is hazardous. The rooms furnishing is rudimentary to say the least - consist of 2 twin beds and a small night table. No closet, no place to put your suitcase. We were glad of a bed as we phoned multiple times trying to get a hotel room and none were available at any hotel, so accommodation is premium in Yellowknife.

To all the b*tches who write bad reviews

This bnb is run by a Chinese family with a warm heart, burning hot in the cold north Canada. They will tell you everything straight like nobody else. If you are loud or talk too much, they will tell you to shut up. When they have reservations they give their room to you and let you use the bathroom first. One young son was always waiting in front of the computer with a curtain as his only place to relax and hide a bit. They also keep their private belongings in some suitcases near the stairs, never disturbing nobody. If you live in the same world where making money is a war, please think about their feelings. Would you choose this lifestyle in YK ? You would probably experience what a family is here better than nowhere. Family fights, family is happy, this is human thing more than business. So please book here to bring some happiness to them. If you're not happy, if you snore at night, or if it ever crossed your mind that a customer needs special services please book a different place.

It works in an emergency if you don’t mind staying in a house with shared facilities.

The location is ok.

No washcloths were provided for the shower.

Found location on short notice due to flight cancelations and vacancy issues in city. Happy ending.

No breakfast provided at location, however this was disclosed prior to booking site. Lodging clean and staff very friendly and accommodating.

Not impressed although the lady was quite pleasant

Not a fan of B&B but only available bed in the city. Bathroom was clean but shared.

Didn’t offer breakfast- tv had poor selection of channels and only in the common area.

We will not stay again and just cannot recommend to friends.

They were nice people. Son was adorable and very polite. Husband was polite but could not speak English so it was frustrating & time consuming to try to communicate (she was home few hours later & did speak with us). Location was fine. Beds were comfortable & bedroom clean but it was very warm & flannel sheets on beds. They used strong fabrics softer and/or soap that caused me to sleep badly. (I should have warmed them ahead of time of smells so I cannot fault them.

Could not lock door to keep our belongings safe while out. But owners seemed trustworthy (they were bathroom locks). She said fire dept said it had to be this way but I feel they may have misunderstood fire dept. Kitchen, including the floors, were filthy. We had to enter at kitchen area. We had no breakfast as had to leave early (unsure we would have eaten there). Fridge, we were told we could get milk etc was filthy. My husband took a few photos but I cannot get them on.

disappointing

You have to read very carefully the description because it is misleading. The main page of booking.com says: Breakfast: American, but there is no breakfast. Okay, accepted. But: You have bath and toilet check-marked, so you might expect private bathroom. Only further down is written: shared toilet and shower. refrigerator and coffee machine in the room? Nope. "Seating area" in the room? No chair, no table. I needed to work after my arrival late in the evening, so I sat on one of the two beds with my laptop and worked. Very uncomfortable. There are a lot of comments about kitchen and bath, I don´t need to add something.

Really relaxing and comfortable!

The BnB got quality services and hospitality with everything you needed for a great value in the Yellowknife area. The hosts are one of the most welcoming hosts I ever met! The room is clean and the bed is comfy and soft. Home-made meals by the host is just amazing!

There's nothing that I don't like about this place.

Worst accommodation for anyone.

The Private kitchen was a shared kitchen controlled by the Chinese family who lived there.The kitchen was always full of uneaten food,dirty pots and pans.The fridge was FULL of their food so there was no room if you wanted to leave any of your food.The Chinese were yelling,fighting and arguing so you couldn't get to sleep.There were people showering at 2-3am which woke me up.The bathroom plumbing was inside the walls of my room (A4) which were so loud it was impossible to sleep.No locks on the outside door handles so you couldn't lock your door.The walls were paper thin so you could hear other conversations and when people opened and closed their doors the walls shook.The owner only wanted cash so you couldn't pay with a credit or debit card.I have travelled over 65 countries over 50 years and this was the worst one yet.I originally booked double bed but got a single then second night I was given a room (same size as other room..Tiny) and the double bed jammed against the cupboard so you couldn't use the wardrobe for storage.I asked Booking.com for my money back but they weren't interested. EVEN after many years of my faithful service to them.I am deeply disappointed with Booking.com's attitude..

Sophia is not too good not too bad, just so so.

Don't feel this is a friendly family. Small bedroom small living room, just allow guests sit at the long table. No kitchen Share bathroom .

Stay away from this place!

Location was alright

Very poor English speaking, had to pay by cash only even with credit card number on file, noisy until very late at night, breakfast=instant coffee and old cookies, sink was clogged and out of order, water in shower was hot for one minute and then turned cooler, had to ask and chase her around for an receipt, WiFi did not work, very dirty kitchen with dinner leftovers, very much overpriced for 0 service - don’t go there!

4 double occupancy bed rooms get to share 1 bathroom, which had dirty baseboards & floor.. No mirror in the room. Could barely get around the bed, too tight! Kettle & toaster sitting on a chair. No brewed coffee. Breakfast foods were dismal. Advertised as $150 per night, it's actually $180.00, as she charged $30 per room for cleaning. Has a bathroom lock on the room door, so you can't lock it when you're not in the room. Dirty pots & pans in the kitchen from their personal evening meal. Milk sitting on the counter all evening.
