Location and views. Hot showers, comfortable crisp white beds.
Some “back stage” functions are undertaken in the common guest areas, which takes the tone down a little. The rooms do not have heating facilities so can be cold. The carpet signs to caution you on the stairs curl at corners and are a slip risk in themselves. Old globs of glue on the steps need to be cleaned away, and the storage area near the permanent guest section of the building shows unsightly clutter through the window and detracts on arrival.

The room itself was lovely, clean and comfortable, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Overall, the accommodation was pleasant.
It was a nice stay with a very comfortable room and bed, but unfortunately, for almost R3,000 per night, I expected considerably more in terms of facilities, food and overall service. Pleasant, but in my opinion, not good value for the price.
Unfortunately, there were a few things that really let the stay down, especially considering the price of almost R3,000 per night. It was extremely cold and when I asked for a heater, I was told that none was available.
Breakfast was very basic and I feel a simple coffee station would make a big difference. That said, when I asked for fresh milk, they were happy to provide it, which I appreciated.
What disappointed me most was dinner. There is a board at reception advertising dinner specials, but when I asked about dinner, I was told they were not serving and that I would need to go out and get something. After driving for more than eight hours, the last thing I wanted to do was get back into the car to find dinner. If dinner isn't available, I feel the specials board should either be removed or guests should be informed beforehand.
