The room was clean and warm during Mestia’s cold winter. The price was affordable. And there was a kind hostess who prepared the breakfasts.
We came to Mestia to ski in the days and enjoy the on-site sauna in the evenings. Unfortunately, the local ski resorts were closed throughout our visit (Dec 30 - Jan 2) with no logical reason given. We realise this is not the accommodation’s fault but that made it all the more frustrating that we were never able to use the sauna either (with reasons ranging from the understandable “it takes 80 minutes to prepare” and “there’s a power outage” to the less reasonable “I’m too busy” and “I’m hungover”).
It was also a bit disappointing that the early breakfast that we’d requested on our departure day (and the host had kindly agreed to) was not provided - it seems our request was forgotten.
