Horrible mildew smell & stained furniture

The staff were nice. The adjacent German restaurant is great.

The room smelled very strongly of mildew/mold. It was awful. If it hadn't been New Year's Eve and all of the other hotels were full, I would have left. It was winter so opening the windows was not an option. The seats of the chairs were so stained that I would not sit on them - it looked like someone had wet their pants on them.

Exceptional

Location to the ferry was good. Could see the lake from our room.

No breakfast was offered. Could have been something as simple as bagels.

No breakfast. Location nice with the view of the water.

There were several disturbing things with my stay. I have a disability and the location in the back of building has a crack in the sidewalk north end of the building. If not for my friend who caught me I would have fallen. This needs to be fixed. It is a trip hazard especially for people with disabilities. Going out to the patio the concrete is down about 2 inches from other concrete. The cost is fairly high considering the restaurant is closed which did not know, no clock in the rooms, no shampoo available to guests.

The room was "old" but probably the cleanest place we have stayed. The bathroom was spotless. We loved Hugels restaurant that is attached. We will definitely return.

Our room was extremely clean. The office staff was welcoming and took time to answer all of our questions. Location is nice as well.

The only thing I didn't like were the pillows that were provided. They were flat and on the hard side.

The Perfect Landing Spot for a Door County Family Adventure

We are so glad we picked this motel for us + our 2 toddlers. It was the perfect landing spot for our time in Door County. After driving through the crowded towns to the South, we were happy to arrive in Ellison Bay, where things are much more calm + old-school. The motel's exterior was cozy, and we were excited for the public beach + playground across the street. As we entered the motel, we were pleased to see the 70's style lobby, with modern twists. It was so nostalgic! The owner was there to greet us + she gave us great dinner recommendations. Opening our door to our Bay View room, we instantly noticed how CLEAN it was. It was truly spotless. And everything in the room was in great condition. It just felt so comforting. The room was also HUGE!

We missed having a mini fridge. The beds were a bit small and firmer than normal, but we loved the room + location so much that this wasn't a deal-breaker.

Loved that it had a bar and restaurant attached, food was amazing! Our rooms was very clean. Wish they offered breakfast but understood that it was their off season. Can't wait to stay there again.

Nice, privately owned motel

Nice, privately owned motel. Very reasonable rate. Rollaway available and in the room when we got there. Owner set it up for us, too.

No breakfast of any kind, just coffee. Restaurant attached to the property owned by someone else and currently closed. Not even able a continental breakfast.

staff was wonderful. motel was clean. location is beautiful! excellent value

we didn’t mind a full size bed. but the bed and linens were not very comfortable. lighting not adequate, especially at sink for shaving and makeup.

Great owners, location & value. Beautiful view and grounds in addition to the delicious German restaurant attached.

Everything was great about our stay! The owners are exceptional and went out of their way to see that we were comfortable and shared local information to make our stay even more enjoyable. We look forward to spending more time there in the future and highly recommend their Inn.
