We travelled by train and the Stirling is well served by buses from Brighton Station. The pub is located in a quite area of Hove with many cafes and eateries close by. Meals served by the pub are good and we ate in the pub's small court yard garden. All rooms are above the pub and accessed by external stairs. We were never disturbed by music or sounds from the bar below. It's a 5-10min walk to the seafront and 5 mins to a Tesco supermarket and also the stop for the X1 Express bus direct into Brighton centre.
No grumbles. It was great value for money.

Very convenient for the Sussex county cricket ground (15 minute walk) which is why I went to Hove. Comfortable bed, quirky decor (I liked it), a compact but efficient bathroom (at last, a walk in shower which does not leak onto the floor). The pub has a happy, lively atmosphere with a nice courtyard garden. The fish and chips are excellent!
Very limited storage space for clothes. Considering that it is a double room (I was alone) two people would find it difficult for more than a couple of nights.

The Managers here are liars- there is no parking available near this property… it is within residential houses on all sides with permit parking only. The nearest parking station is a good ten minute walk away- I would not have stayed there had I have known this.. when I asked to speak to the manager the nice lady behind the bar said it was his day off and wasn’t answering his phone..
I received a £50 parking fine, then had to pay for the parking station.. I wouldn’t recommend this establishment because of the desceitful way they go about reservations….
