Absolutely stunning building in a beautiful village. Wonderful furnishings, such well thought out design and attention to detail. The garden and the meadow are the highlight to this home. There were only two of us but plenty of space for six adults.
Sadly the gas boilers was faulty and the first night it was as 14 degrees, absolutely freezing and uncomfortable nights sleep which spoiled the stay. I messaged one of the managers and he was very helpful and gave instructions of how to fix it (resetting the boiler) however the boiler is housed in a cupboard that has been blocked by a huge fridge freezer that has to be pulled out two feet to get to the cupboard.
I could not move it myself so had to phone my brother in Oxford to come an help - the boiler then went out four more times on the trip, nightmare for anyone not strong enough to move the huge fridge- please consider lockable casters on the fridge so it can be moved easily.
Please get the boiler fixed as it is making very loud bangs and it was a worry during our stay.

The garden was fabulous and the proximity to the dovecote, Lovell Hall and the dog walks around that area were a bonus. The house felt very homely and the kitchen worked well - good quality fittings and white goods. It was wonderfully quiet and we enjoyed watching the birds - swifts and thrushes especially, the latter smashing snail shells on the paving slabs in the garden.
The claw foot bath was only able to be used by one out of the four guests. A walk-in shower upstairs would be a HUGE improvement to the facilities. The creaky floorboards upstairs were annoying at night. The sun parasol in the garden was on its last legs - badly frayed rope. A night light on the landing would be useful for night-time visits. A bit more lighting in the dining room would be good.

A beautiful cottage on a lane in Old Minster which is chocolate box pretty. Furthermore the garden and the outlook from the back of the cottage are delightful.
For the very old or disabled, the stairs are extremely steep and there are very many little steps between rooms.
For the tall the cottage has low ceilings; in one room the ceiling height is less than 2 metres.

The cottage itself is great, it is what you expect when booking an old cottage style home. The gardens were amazing and a great place to sit and relax with family. Location was amazing and close to some incredible ruins next to the church. Also a nice pub in walking distance.
The main issue was cleanliness of the downstairs ensuite. We found used toilet tissues in the toilet paper basket, dried urine around the toilet, and the downstairs bedroom walls had paint crumbled away in areas.
