I booked this hostel after reading reviews of several hostels. Most reviews for Princes Street hostel said the showers and toilets were clean and had hot water (which were badly reviewed in other hostels) and the reviews were right. I was very happy with the facilities. Check in was easy, I could store my luggage after check out and work from the lounge area. It was great!
The stairs with a heavy bag is tricky but they warn you! Luckily a guest helped me.

The location is perfect- it’s within walking distance of all the major tourist attractions and just a 5-minute walk from the train station.
I noticed that the blanket seemed to have been used and was not properly laundered. It had an unpleasant smell, and I experienced some skin irritation after using it.

Breakfast is a very good deal, location is really convenient, staff was really kind and helpful and beds are comfy.
It's a fourth floor with no elevator, so It can be an issue if you are not travelling light. Unless unseen this is not really specified as such when booking. Unfortunately, wasnt lucky with my roomies, who were noisy (you cant watch videos at 3 am without earphones dear and be surprised when someone complains!), but that's not hostel's fault.
