I liked that the place was lively downstairs, that you could actually be there and have fun. It was also not suffering from run downness of so many other hostels I have been to. So that was also conformtable.
The breakafst is not great. Orange drink instad of ornage juise is abolutley foul. And the toatser needs replacing. Small fish really.

It was very close to all the important tourist locations in Edinburgh. The amenities inside the hostel room were pretty decent too. The bed was comfortable and there were sufficient charging points near the bed. I had my own padlocks so I used one of them at the lockers to keep my stuff when I went outside. I booked in a mixed dorm room and my roommates were mostly quiet people who kept to themselves. So, I was able to rest well after exploring the city during the day. The hostel staff were polite and friendly as well. It was overall a pleasant stay.
Locating the place when you arrive from the airport isn’t easy if you’re new to the city. When I arrived, it was raining badly and I struggled a lot to drag my suitcases with an umbrella in one hand and check Google Maps to get to the hostel. Secondly, there are lot of stairs in this hostel and NO ELEVATOR. It’s an old building so can’t really complain about it. The hostel is located in the old town of Edinburgh. If you’re solo traveling, it isn’t easy to get to your room even if you have small/medium sized suitcase. Thankfully, one of the hostel guests assisted me with carrying my suitcase to my room. It would’ve been great if the hostel had someone to help guests a bit with their luggage because there’s no elevator.
