About this house rental
Located on Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula, This cottage is only 400 feet from the mouth of the Tobacco River and located on 230' of Lake Superior lakeshore. Approximately 15 miles from Lake Linden and Calumet. The nearest village is Gay. The views, breezes and waves are simply fantastic. Home is located on the Gay/Lac LaBelle Road with easy access year round (available for rent all seasons). Peak periods are Memorial Day to Labor Day, and early-September to mid-October and Christmas to early March (snowmobile/Ski season). This property has a spectacular view of the Lake from all the main living areas and bedrooms. The multi-level deck allows you to enjoy the summer breezes or the fall colors with family and friends. The Lower level has laundry area, and a bunkroom Sauna and Pool table. Upper level features beautiful red maple and cherry hardwood vaulted ceiling and open design from kitchen, dining and living room for great views of the lake and easy conversation. Master bedroom features a king bed and 180 degree view of the lake. Bathroom is a full bath including bathtub and shower. Property is slightly elevated from the lake enhancing the lake view, but requires a few steps down to the Lake. The Tobacco River is about 400 feet away. Old restored pier 500 feet the other way brings back memories of old copper mining days gone by. This is a two-story home and is a great If you revel in ATV, UTV or snowmobiling riding this place is a perfect launching point for exploring the Keweenaw. We are positioned across the street is from a major trail head. There is plenty of room for parking trailers and toy haulers. Trail 133 comes to the road for easy ride in and out access. We have one Ring security camera between the overhead and the man door. It has audio and microphone capabilities. The main reason for it we find it necessary is to help guests with any issues in getting into to the cabin. The second reason is for snow removal during the winter months. There is a drastically different snow accumulation from one area of the Keweenaw to another. Keywords: House

Great place for a bunch of buds going to Bohemia. The bunk room is a bit different but we had a blast. It was a nice easy ride back and forth from Mt. Bohemia.

Our Christmas getaway to the lakeshore in Gay was serene and comfortable. We only stayed overnight, but wished we could stay longer. The kitchen was wonderfully equipped. Living room furniture was comfortable for lake viewing through gorgeous picture windows. We would definitely go back to try the kayaks and just enjoy the beautiful setting.

My family and i stayed here early November for a relaxing getaway. We really enjoyed the house. The lake was right in our backyard and was located in a good location to explore surrounding areas. We really appreciated the hosts suggestions on places to eat and things to do. The pasties from Louie's fresh market were amazing! We definitely recommend and hope to stay again!

Our stay was wonderful. The view is spectacular. The evenings on the deck with the fireplace glowing, the night air and the sounds of the water is magical. The house is clean and provides everything you need. The owners are very accommodating.

Place was nice with all the accommodations you would need while on vacation. The kitchen had pots and pans, plates, and the refrigerator/freezer had lots of room. Super comfy king sized bed and nice patio area to take in the views of the lake during the day and to stargaze at night!

We enjoyed our stay. The place was clean, the bed was comfortable, and we really enjoyed using the sauna at the end of long days exploring the area. I liked being in Gay, I felt close to both Copper Harbor and Calumet. I appreciated how quick the hosts responded when I reached out. I would stay here again.

My family had the pleasure of staying in this great location. Upon arriving we were enchanted with that gorgeous view of Lake Superior. Our dog loved really enjoyed running around the back yard. After our 10 hour drive, the gas fire on the deck was very relaxing way to spend our evening. The house is located very close to a nice park and small waterfall where the Tobacco River meets Lake Superior. We enjoyed our morning walks in this area with our dog. It was a serene way to start our day.
The location is perfect for exploring all of the Keweenaw Peninsula. We appreciated all of the great communication from the owners providing timely check in and check out instructions.
We would like to thank Jason and Misty for sharing their place. My family created many wonderful memories here and we look forward to returning in the future.

Our family of 4 really enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean, comfy beds and the view of Lake Superior is amazing! We enjoyed every night out on the deck with a fire. Bob Kauppi next door at the Dockside Campground was really nice, we enjoyed talking with him and visiting his fishing port each night. The people of Gay are great all around. The location was great, we visited Copper Harbor many days and went as far south as Misery Bay. My only complaint is you need bigger coffee cups, there is only one!!! Jason and Misty were super fast in answering any questions. Thank you again for sharing your special place with our family and golden retriever. ❤️

Great to place to use for skiing at Mt Bohemia. Very clean house and great setup for a weekend with friends. Sauna works great! The driveway was plowed before we woke up every morning.

A big group of us stayed here and we absolutely loved the location. We were able to Ski Mt. Bohemia and go into Houghton. The Gay Bar was right down the road which made a night close to home easy. The views of Lake Superior and amenities were thoroughly enjoyed (sauna and fire pit). It was a little bit small for our group but it worked out. Awesome place to stay and I would recommend this listing to anyone!

This was a perfect house for our Christmas stay in Gay, if you want a quiet place with a beautiful lake view then this is the place.
House was clean and very nice .
Just a small inconvenience , in winter the second bathroom gets very cold as it’s in ground floor and is pretty much unusable.

We really enjoyed our stay here. My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and this was the perfect place to do it.

This is a great property in a beautiful location. Everything was clean and nicely set up, and was a great place from which to visit other local attractions. The hosts were great and provided all of the information we needed for an enjoyable stay. I would happily stay here again!

We booked this home later than we normally would and were happy to find it still available. It was clean and had most of what we needed to enjoy our time in the Keweenaw. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck listening to the waves of Lake Superior, daily walks with our dog to the mouth of the Tobacco River, which is just a short walk down the road, and the sauna after a day of hiking or biking. There were a few things that could use replacing, especially given the nightly fee charged. The stove (only 1 burner worked reliably and it smelled strongly of gas each time we turned it or the oven on), the couch which was broken and sagging severely in the middle and multiple patio chairs. It would also be nice if the upstairs bedroom has a place to hang clothes.

We had a lovely time at this property. The views are amazing, and there is so much to see in the area. The house itself was great as well- I was a little apprehensive about the bunk bed situation but the beds were surprisingly comfortable. We had a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend this property!

The location is great! Easy walking to a beautiful beach, fishing, etc. Not too bad of a drive to most restaurants in the surrounding area! We never got to try the bat but it was always busy! The house was beautiful and the people were great! 10/10 would stay again!

Views and location are amazing! Relaxing upstairs commons are that over looks Lake Superior. Limited parking in the winter, basement bunk room was very cold during our winter visit.

Snowmobile/ski trip paradise!
Came with a group to go skiing at mount Bohemia and also snowmobiling up to copper harbor. Location is great for both!
My favorite part of the place was the sauna and amazing WiFi!
If I had to critique anything it would be the kitchen drawers were hard to open and close.
Overall a great place for a group who wants to be in the snow and have a view of the lake!
