About this house rental
Located in Little Compton, this charming house for $533 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Private home less than 3 miles from desirable South Shore beach on Quicksand Pond. A private and peaceful home located in beautiful Little Compton, Rhode Island on 8 acres of land. Enjoy a vacation surrounded by stonewalls, meadows, on the pond, and only a short bike ride to the beach. Renovations recently completed including fresh paint, new carpets, new bathrooms, air conditioning and all new linens and bedding. The first floor has a large kitchen set up for anyone who loves to cook. The first floor has an open plan with plenty of space to relax with family and friends. The first floor also has a kitchen with wood stove, full bathroom, sunroom, living room and office with a pullout coach (queen size) and television. The second floor has three bedrooms, two with a queen beds, a full bathroom, and the master bedroom with a king bed with its own bathroom soaking tub and shower. The third floor is perfect for kids with two bedrooms; one has a set of twin bunks and two additional twin beds, the other bedroom has a full bed. The basement has a washer and dryer, ping pong table, and extra refrigerator/freezer. Outside enjoy the large yard that leads to the pond. Sit by the fire pit and watch the swans and deer over a cup of coffee or a cocktail. Plenty of space for outdoor yard games. There is also an outdoor shower to clean up after a beach day and a new grill and a large outdoor table that seats 10. We have two kayak (one kids kayak and one adult one) and a skiff (a flat bottom row boat) for you to use on the pond. There are a few beach chairs, beach wagon, beach toys, a cooler and beach bags for your use as well. Close to Newport, Boston, Cape Cod or only a ferry ride to Block Island, Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket. Enjoy beautiful beaches, nature trails, local vineyards, boating, surfing, organic farm stands and restaurants.

This property is as advertised - lots of space for a group getaway. The property is secluded on lots of land. The owners are very engaged and respond to questions promptly. There is a nice grocery store nearby that has everything you could want. I definitely recommend this property!

We had a multi-generational family staying for a week, and we couldn’t have been happier with the house. It had plenty of room to stretch out, and also to gather together. The grounds are amazing, and we really enjoyed the kayak/boat access on the pond.

Our house on Quicksand Pond was everything as promised and more. There was plenty of room for the 13 of us, plus everything we needed for cooking, eating, and beaching. It’s a great location for getting to South Shore Beach where we went every day for the week. Only thing missing was an umbrella for the outdoor dining area. With young kids we were eating early so the sun was still out in full force. But what a beautiful spot!!! Thank you Sara and Jeff for being such great hosts and providing everything we’d need for a fabulous family vacation.

Wonderful house with all we needed for large family group. Kids loved playing in the massive yard and trying to catch fireflies. Adults enjoyed relaxing and kayaking on the pond and watching the swans swim by. Close to plenty of activities but feels like your in your own world.

This is such a lovely house, perfect for our family Thanksgiving gathering. The kitchen is huge and very well appointed. The beds were all quite comfortable. The property is set back from the road, and the huge yard was great for the kids to play lacrosse and football. Sara and Jeff very generously left us a gift of hot cocoa, prosecco, and candy. They also made sure that we would have a roasting pan for our turkey. We all enjoyed cozy fires in the woodstove and fireplace. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and find their own space. The kids liked having the office to make their own hangout. I would suggest that a house that large could use a little more seating options in the living room and more chairs at the dining table so that all could sit together for meals. That being said, it was quite idyllic, and we loved every minute. Check in and check out was a breeze. We will definitely keep this place in mind for future family getaways. The area is so charming, and Little Compton and Westport are both a quick drive away for grabbing anything you may need.

Our trip to Little Compton was a perfect fall weekend for our group of 8. 4 adults and 4 teens. Property was just as advertised. Clean, comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed sitting in the yard by the fire pit and walking around the property. We cooked meals at home and had all the equipment we needed. The surrounding area was scenic and we enjoyed farmers markets, apple picking and visits to Tiverton and Westport. Check in was easy. Would recommend this property.

At the end of a long beautiful road is a house in the woods with water access and bucolic views. Comfortable and spacious the house is perfect for gatherings and getaways. A fully equipped kitchen and outdoor grill are a food lovers delight! The outdoor space is equally compelling. Highly recommend a stay here!

The location was a bit difficult to find because Google maps and Apple maps both said the house was on the corner of the beginning of the drive way. Besides that is was very beautiful! We had 12 people in the house and it fit everyone perfectly! The back yard was huge!!! The house had plenty of fire wood for the little fire pit, and the owner even left fresh veggies from her garden!

We agree with all the recent 5 star reviews; it is a well equipped, roomy, comfortable house. Property is large, very private and extremely quiet. Deer come by late afternoon, and an Osprey usually had a late lunch on top of a dead tree on the property line. We , and some family members, enjoyed our weeks stay before Labor Day very much. The beach was very good with water temp in low 70’s. Communication with owner was easy with very fast response.

We had a great time staying for two weeks at Quicksand Cottage. The house is roomy and well-designed for our large family. We cooked happily in the big kitchen, played games in the large yard, and slept well in the comfy beds. We loved being able to kayak to our favorite beach. Sara and Jeff are wonderful hosts. We were sad to leave!

Lovely home on Quicksand Pond
Our family has been coming to LC since the ‘60’s but never stayed in this area. It was so fun to be on Quicksand Pond, a bike ride away from Town Beach and the commons. And still close to Westport!! The house is very comfortable and the kitchen well appointed - lots of glasses, dishes and silverware as well as all the pots and pans you need!
Geoff and Sara are great and so easy to work with and communicate with!

Great family setting
Clean, modern, private. Great house and yard. Bike accessible to the "Commons ( town center), South Beach, playground, and tennis courts, as well as Westport ( ocean views near Elephant Rock). Owners helpful and responsive. Can rent bikes and trailers. Sakonnet Vineyards a good visit - 8 min drive. Lots of farm stands with fresh eggs, beef, bread, veggies, etc. Little Compton is a throwback to 80 years ago - slow paced, little commercialism, and friendly people.

Perfect location for girls' weekend
We all loved our time at the Quicksand Pond rental -- the house was beautiful, very clean, extra comfortable beds, and lots of space for the 6 of us! Lots of vineyards, local markets, and breweries around that we discovered and would definitely love to stay here again! Great place to relax and the hosts were very responsive to requests. Amazing end of summer vacation
We had a wonderful experience at this property with lots of room for family. The yard was great for the kids to run around and play. Short drive to the beach, Little Compton commons, and grocery store in Westport.

Quiet, relaxing place perfect for families
After our other rental was cancelled last minute in July, we took a risk and signed up for Sara's spot when there were still no reviews. We're so glad we did because it far exceeded our expectations! The house is located on a beautiful piece of property on a pond that you can access the beach from via SUP or kayak. You can't see any other homes and it is such a quiet, restful spot - at dawn and dusk we could look out the kitchen window to see 4 deer eating on the lawn. There is a great big mowed lawn that is perfect for kids and playing croquet or badminton - bring your own. The house is spacious with a well-appointed kitchen and grill. Plenty of bathrooms and bedrooms for a nice big family or friends getaway. Sara was very responsive and even left us with fresh tomatoes from her garden. Little Compton is a quiet town and perfect for people who like to cook (great seafood and farm stands in LC and Westport) and be outside. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for quality time with family and friends in a beautiful setting!

The location is very private but it’s also easily accessible to the beach and town center. The yard is very spacious and perfect for lawn games. There is a fire pit which is great for roasting marshmallows. There is an outdoor shower for when you get back from the beach. It has water access to Quicksand Pond (which also makes for a beautiful view) and there is a rowboat and kayak you can take out.
The interior of the house is lovely and impeccably decorated. The house is outfitted with everything you could possibly need (including a ping pong table, beach towels, coolers etc). Also, the owners even left us fresh squash from their garden.
One thing to note is there isn’t AC but there are fans throughout the house. The heat wasn’t a problem for us when the temperature outside was in the 80s. My only regret is that we didn’t rent it for longer!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Sara and Jeff's house in Little Compton. The house and location are amazing. We woke up to the sun sparkling on the nearby pond, and our children loved playing in the huge yard. The rooms were all large and comfortable, and Sara and Jeff were attentive and responsive hosts. The kitchen is well-stocked, and there are lovely features like the outdoor shower and ample master bath. It has very easy access to the incredible beaches of Little Compton, and we were able to paddle down to the beach from the house itself with the kayaks we had brought. We had an awesome stay for 3 weeks with 3 generations of family members, and we hope to go back next summer!

Secluded gem!
We made a last minute decision to visit Little Compton and were very fortunate that this property became available. The hosts were excellent and extremely responsive to any questions we had. The house is tucked away down a private road and is very quiet. The house was impeccably clean and had all the amenities that were necessary for a pleasant stay. The large yard goes all the way down to Quicksand Pond where you can take a kayak out for a spin around the large pond.
