Location was great especially if you want the nightlife or cafes/restaurants. Very close to mayflower park and cruise terminals.
The noise at night was bad as it’s right above a bar with VERY loud music till the early hours. Was not aware of this and room was right above - despite saying I had a child with me.

I ended up having to visit Southampton on short notice, so I booked this place at the last minute. The location was great, the price was reasonable, and the room was clean and simple - it was a huge help!
I personally really liked the cozy, hidden-away atmosphere. The bed was comfortable, and self-check-in went smoothly without any issues. Since I was traveling light with just a single tote bag, the stairs that others mentioned didn't bother me.
I was prepared for some noise since it’s in a lively area, but around 23.00(?), the music and noise from nearby spots completely stopped.
There was no hair dryer or fridge, but I wasn't expecting them for this stay, so it wasn't an issue for me.
The toilet sometimes took a while before it could be flushed again, but as long as you wait a bit, it works fine.

Room was basic which we expected. There was no remote for the TV, no spoon to make coffee.
No remote for TV. And on top floor with narrow staircase and had to call on how to open the door as the key safe was different.
