Everything! It is a Japanese authentic hotel, no closes needed, you get traditional clothes on the spot for the whole stay. Food was variable and delicious, the natural open air onsen is amazing. Stuff was so kind service oriented. Large room and a calm and relaxed atmosphere. This was the highlight of our visit in Japan. Thank you 🙏

Amazing hotel. Stayed in a classic tatami-style room with a sunrise view over the mountains. Comfortable futon bedding, spacious room, immaculate grounds. I really enjoyed the impeccably clean onsen, especially changing locations from AM to PM slots - very nice bit of novelty for a multi-day stay. The karaoke and table tennis facilities are a real bonus feature.
I used this hotel as a base for a Kamikochi day trip acting as a midway point from Takayama & Matsumoto. It was fantastic with frequent buses only a short 25-30 minute drive from the park (depending on which stop you got off at).
The staff were also so incredibly warm & friendly. Highly recommend!
The dinner buffet was amongst the priciest I had in Japan. The food was very high quality with a lot of options, but given the lack of options in the immediate township, 6600 yen feels like a steep price for a guest to pay. I understand it's simple supply & demand, but this felt 20-30% overpriced.

What a lovely place. The location is perfect, the staff wonderful (they helped us with everything), the surrounding a dream. We stayed in the Japanese room with garden view which is very large and super nice and with a view of a magic garden and scenery. We did not use the Onsen bath, so we cannot give feedback. But , everything else was lovely. I do not understand the bad reviews. Maybe middle of June is a good time to come, not too crowded. We would like to come back with family and friends.
Nothing. Well, one small thing. I would appreciate larger sleepers sizes.
