About this house rental
Watch the sun rise over the cornfield while you enjoy your morning coffee on the front porch. Beautiful sunsets in the evenings overlooking the lake never disappoint. Bringing your boat? There is a public boat launch a quarter of a mile down the road. Take a 30 minute leisurely boat ride to Front Street and enjoy the festivities. If you are driving into town, we are 8 miles to Front street. The indoor kitchen is fully stocked. The griddle in the outdoor kitchen is out of commission, however there is a charcoal grill for your use. WiFi is available and you may use streaming apps to watch television, however cable tv is not offered. The home provides ample room to bring the family. There’s nothing fancy here, but peacefulness is found in the simplicity of our home and the tranquility of the water. Swimming is allowed at your own risk. Kayaks are on site along with life jackets. Kayaks can be used at your own risk. Security cameras are on site capturing entrance gates, pontoon boat, boat dock, and rear entrance of the house.

Beautiful property, on the water!
I enjoyed waking up with a cup of coffee and sitting by the fire while reading a book.
We enjoyed fishing and kayaking in the day!
The house was clean and came stocked with everything you need!

Not only was this property perfect for me and my family but the host, Nicole, was the sweetest person you would want in a host. The location was very convenient, the property was super clean, the beds slept comfortably, and the view of the lake was absolutely breathtaking. We will definitely be back! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home is beautifully decorated for Christmas and is super convenient to the Natchitoches Christmas festivities. We were very comfortable and had plenty enough room for our 10 guests. Our hostess was very responsive and gave us tips for the Natchitoches fireworks show. The view of the river is beautiful and we enjoyed the patio. We highly recommend this property.

Enjoyed both patios. House was very clean and comfy, it was too hot to use the outdoor kitchen, but it would be amazing in the fall. We enjoyed our time here, kicking back and enjoying the water view and wildlife. When you get hungry - I highly recommend Cane River Commissary or Mayeauxs. Also visit cane river kitchen for their cookies and pralines.

We had a very nice stay at this property for our anniversary. The host Nicole, responds quickly and was very helpful with recommendations on where to go and what to see. We took our friends party boat up the river to town several times and had a blast! The home is comfortable, well furnished and we absolutely loved that the property is fenced for our 4legged babies. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed my time here. I was able to relax and read on the back pouch and listen/watch the birds. The place was perfectly located just a short drive into town. A lot to see and do in town.

The homeowner has clearly spent time making this a beautiful and well appointed home. The yard is stunning and well maintained, she somehow keeps the pests at bay! The birds even feel welcome! Inside is clean and has all the comforts of your own home. The owner was so fast to respond and even called me personally to make sure the home was perfect. The neighborhood is quiet and safe, the yard is enclosed for dogs too. We can't wait to come back!

This property was perfect for our group. The house had everything and then some to make our stay great. The sunrise and sunset is fabulous. Our kids enjoyed the Cane River and spent all daylight outside.

Beautiful setting, gorgeous flowers and yard, comfortable furnishings inside and out! We spent most of our time on the back porch watching the birds and enjoying the tranquility of the Cane River! We had plenty of room to spread out in the multiple bedrooms, and we were able to prepare and enjoy meals together both inside and outside. Close enough to town to easily attend multiple events at NSU and run to the store when needed, but far enough out to get away from it all. We had a wonderfully relaxing long weekend with extended family, thank you so much for having us!

Natchitoches was the meeting point for family during
Easter weekend. It was the best ever...clean, roomy, comfy beds. Best of all was the beautiful view of the
Cane River from the huge covered patio. The weather was a bit cool and rainy, but the gas fire pit kept us outside most of the time. We all had books to read, birds
to watch and action on the river. The neighborhood was
very quiet, the landscaping was lovely and nothing was lacking. I could live there. Thank you, Nicole, for making such a delightful place to visit.

We chose this property as a destination vacation away from the hum of Houston. We got exactly as pictured plus more! We enjoyed our time fishing, kayaking and evenings in with board games, movies and popcorn! Hope to book again and bring more family with us next time, now we see how much room there is.

We had everything we needed, as well as a spectacular back covered patio overlooking the Cane River. We enjoyed so much the time to visit as well as sight-seeing in and around Natchitoches.

My husband and I stayed here for our 1 year anniversary and we could not have enjoyed our stay more!! The house is everything it states and actually more in person. We had everything we needed and had a special request that was no problem for the host. The host was extremely helpful in every aspect for our stay. Beautiful house and beautiful views right out your backdoor of the river. We would stay again and again!

This house has everything you need. And the host goes above and beyond with accommodations. We felt like we were at home. Being right on the river was amazing. We enjoyed coffee on the porch in the morning and watched the sun rise. My husband did a little fishing off the dock and we had fresh catfish for dinner. Our last day it rained constantly and I’m so glad we were at this property. We just sat and enjoyed it. It was the perfect end to our 10 day trip in Louisiana. We will definitely stay here again when we return.

This is a wonderful property with so much room. It was just the two of us, but man it would have been a great place to have multiple families with space to BBQ. The water was fantastic and bird watching was great. Overall just a nice, quiet stay.

Her kindness exceeds any host I’ve ever worked with, and the attention to detail she put into the space made us feel cozy and like we were at home. The view from both the back and front porches are fabulous, so much so that we spent every morning sipping coffee and watching the water, then winding down and listening to nature in the evenings. We are looking forward to spending time here again in the future.

Beautiful, immaculate house, inside and out. Great kitchen, large living room, and very comfy king bed. We loved getting up early to watch the sun rise on the front porch and watching the sun go down on the back porch. We saw egrets, blue herrons and some turtles. So relaxing watching nature. None of us including our lil pup wanted to leave. Nicole was a fantastic host, very accommodating and was quick to get back to us. We stayed for five days and wish it could have been longer. We hope to return soon. We absolutely loved it,

My family and I absolutely loved our stay at Cornfields and Cane! The home is spacious, well cared for and exactly as described. The grounds-both the front and back - are well maintained and just beautiful. We spent mornings on the back patio sipping our morning coffee and taking in the spectacular view of the Cane River Lake. It was very peaceful at night as well. The owner Nicole was extremely accommodating and very prompt in responding. Check-in and check out was a breeze. We will definitely only stay here when we go back.

My girlfriends and I take a long weekend trip every year and this year we went to Natchitoches, LA. After seeing the pictures in VRBO of this beautiful place on the the Cane River that was reasonably priced and not too far from the historic downtown., we decided to book it. Best decision we ever made!
The home was clean, comfortable and well kept. We loved drinking coffee in the cool crisp morning air on the back porch overlooking the river. We'd watch the sun rise over the house and watched birds as they ate at the bird feeders. There were lovely calla lilies in the back yard and it was just so beautiful, peaceful and quiet. There is also a large front porch from which you can sit also with ample seating on both porches.
In the evenings we played games around a large dining table that could comfortably sat 6.
We'd definitely stay there again in a heartbeat.

The views of the Cane River were stunning! The house was beautiful, comfortable and clean. The location was perfect in a quiet neighborhood just 15 minutes from Natchitoches. The host, Nicole did an excellent job of communicating with us. Highly recommend this property.

Stayed here for a weekend getaway with my girlfriend’s family and it was a great time. House was clean, location was good, had everything you needed, and owner was accommodating. Loved the easy access to Cane River for fishing and cruising. Great sunsets and sunrises. Highly recommend.
