Wonderful staff and great location. Hostel provided some great recommendations! Excellent location.

Beds were a little hard and no AC but the staff were very kind and gave us a fan.

It was a was good place to stay and hangout, it was clean and tidy, and the reception staff was helpful..

The major concern is with the new policy they have started with. Drinking water is basic human need and rite but if you don't have a water bottle with you and want to drink water they do not provide glasses in the name of less plastic usage, now paper cups like the use to. You are forced to buy glass instead of drinking water which I feel is very wrong. Practice and not at all tolerable. This business idea is not right and acceptable. I did climb a stiff road to reach there with a heavy rucksack and was not able to drink water and was told to buy their glass instead. I would suggest here to provide these glasses on deposit and return it while the customer is checking out and submitting this reusable glass. Second was that they don't allow people at their open top valley view cum cafeteria after midnight in the name of policy. Solo or group travellers are choosing a hostel to chill n chitchat within noise levels. People don't sit at hostels in day time in places like Shimla they explore, after having dinner everyone wants to have good conversations while enjoying the night view of City and cool weather. I have known other Hostels don't have such policies and Rules so people come together and enjoy. Here are kinds of restrictions which are again not very inconvenient especially for youngsters. Hopefully Hostteler management will take this review seriously and reconsider revising their policies. I have stayed with Shimla property for the second time, last time was really fun but this time it's disappointing on the above 2 points. Rest is good with this place. Note - I had to request to stay in top cafeteria area for late night and got allowed but This might not happen with everyone. Here it should be part of their policies so customers don't have to request specially in the hospitality Industry where the customer is the most precious for any hotel/hostel chain.

The rooms were good and beds were comfortable. The bathroom and amnities were also good. The distance from the Mall Road is very less which is really appreciable.

However, the approach roads are extremely inconvenient for anyone especially the elderly. The cafeteria is completely veg which is their prerogative of course but ordering food takes 1-1.5 hours because of the improper motor vehicle accessibility. The caferia food is not up to the mark and they specify complementary breakfast outside which anything you order is chargeable.
