The style and location of the hotel were both really attractive; the room I was given was at the very top of the hotel, which provided both a really quiet and private room and fabulous views of the village and Tuscan countryside.
My room was spacious, clean and had access to a rooftop patio; however, the door was locked, so a tad disappointing not to be able to take in the sunset views other than through the window.
The staff member who met me at my late check-in was very pleasant, but communication was a bit of an issue as she only spoke Portuguese and had very limited understanding of either English or Italian. That said, we managed to kind of understand each other and I was allowed to store my bike in the hotel.
The Village is really lovely and located upon a hilltop, so it was a decent cycle up to it after already riding 127km to reach a checkpoint on the first day of the Tuscany Trail Cycling Event I was taking part in.
The only negative was that there were no restaurants open on the evening I arrived, and the hotel did not have its own. This also meant they did not offer any breakfast. Not a major stress in the morning as there is a cafe located less than 50 metres away that serves a lovely coffee and cornetto combination for 3 euros.
Be aware that the Google Maps directions are pretty rubbish when trying to find the hotel. Aim for the square indicated on the address details, as you walk up the slight gradient, the hotel is located on the left-hand side.
