Very nice place to stay, the host was very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was nice, some fruits would’ve been welcomed, but besides that a lot of options to choose from.
The room was very spacious, modern, with AC, fridge and everything we needed.
You can order from room service an amazing curry, which we loved. Careful though when order to be very specific, cause we ordered one and received and paid for 2.

Comfortable bed and pillows. Room had an air conditioner, small fridge, balcony. Stuff is friendly. Location is good, pretty close to the beach and the main road.
The room was small. The air conditioner was weak; it froze overnight and no longer blew cold air. There was no hot water for a couple of days. The hotel is close to the railway.

Great proximity to shops and restaurants - 2 min walk away, lovely breakfast and option for very well priced dinner (Sri Lankan rice and curries), very friendly staff
Room wasn’t facing train track but could hear train sounds as it was close to the tracks, though trains are infrequent (we did not hear trains late at night)

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The location was also perfect - very close to Hikkaduwa Beach and Narigama Beach (everything was walking distance). The breakfast was okay - don’t expect anything amazing as it’s very plain but wasn’t the worst breakfast we tried in Sri Lanka.
However, we are not sure why the place has such high ratings. The sheets didn’t smell clean, the bathroom had a weird smell (vomit), and we had two cockroaches in our room which just topped it off. We stayed in 8 locations before this one, of various standard, and never had an issue with the above. It is also advertised that there’s a flat-screen TV, which is true, but was not plugged in and set up, not sure if it even worked. The bedside lamps also didn’t work.
I hope that the place takes these points into consideration to improve customer satisfaction. Thank you!
