Great bar/lobby. Rooms need more storage for unpacking during a long stay. Only weirdness…requested a box of tissue in the morning and came back to my room after a day of sightseeing to find my door had been left open/ajar for who knows how long. Less weird but makes the list is that the bar area is in the general lobby area so expect to enjoy your evening cocktail with people’s kids bouncing around and ordering sodas at the bar. Was much better once Easter weekend passed and was generally a great post hike spot.

Pool was not heated and filled with dirty murky water
No view, covered by buildings and just that railroad
Sauna was for a charge which never got mentioned on the site
No other amenities for the family we can do but sit on the chairs by the fire while my kids watch the grass
We can hear the train so loudly from the room
Ceiling has black mold and cracks
Walls are too thin we can hear people banging walls having sex and talking all night we are a family with 3 kids and did not sleep at all
We left for dinner at 5:30 came back to sleep at 8pm and decided to just go home at 10pm. It was the longest 2 hours of my life trying to figure out how we can survive til the morning.

Hotel layout is really unique with pleasing aesthetics. Bar is great and general store is super handy to have. All the employees were super nice and helpful.

Loved the General Store! Pizza and salad are a must. Will have to stay longer next time to experience more of the menu.

HCML is beautiful, cozy, and has a great location! We were really impressed by what they have done to this space. It is clean and has beautiful and fun touches. We loved staying in this space and are even considering having our wedding here. Highly recommend staying here for folks who want a launch pad to all that Northern Arizona has to offer and are looking for charm.

This was our second time at High Country Motor Lodge. Definitely the only place I’ll stay in Flagstaff! It’s so convenient, has everything you need. We had a room facing the courtyard and we slept so well - very quiet and comfy at night. I love the hot tub and the fire pits.

Great place, Staff was very nice and helpful, really enjoyed our stay except... room door needed weather strip, cold air all night which kept the heat running all night. Heat unit was very loud! Outdoor gas fire pits ran all night, great ambiance,,, a lot of gas burned unneccessarily :(

Cute boutique motel. Rooms are revamped and vintage style, it's cute, nice finishing touches. It's what I'd expect with a high traffic, mountain destination, college town hotel. The price was decent, can't complain. Plus their lobby, bar restaurant and lounge area is decorated nice and pretty much has everything you need if you didn't want leave the premises. Coffee, cocktails, food. Plus it's within walking distance to many places. There were a couple minor tweaks that could be made- floor swept especially by bed and under bed, they provide shampoo, conditioner and body wash attached to the shower wall but our body wash was completely empty, neighbors played music until 2 am and we could hear it all night through our wall, and also smelled like they were smoking. But overall the motel itself was worth the value we paid. We also stayed Tuesday- Wednesday not weekend prices.

The room was spacious and clean and the staff was friendly. I found the property to be quiet and slept well. Was a good staging ground for my visits to nearby National Parks and National Monuments.

This place will charm your socks off. Pluses are the use of a sauna which costs extra (cold plunge is the unheated pool) and the convenience of great food and espressos also with additional charges on site. Travelers should know that trains run all night and are very close by.

Stayed here with my family. We loved this place! We have two boys ages 10 and 12 and they loved the game room with the pool table and foosball, and a lot of board games to play! The bar and market store is right close to the game room, so we could get our drinks or food and play with them. The pool was not heated but we used the Jacuzzi and loved it! Room is good enough size and had a lot of hangers and storage space. Loved the decor and the boutique aspect of it. Very close to Flagstaff downtown, few min by car, but there are walkable restaurants to go as well. Will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Flagstaff

The restaurant and bar is great. It's expensive, but cheaper than a dui. Room service had some incessant knocking that ruined 'the mood', but I'd still stay again. I'd just manage time a little better.

This place was absolutely wonderful. The room was so well-appointed. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The lights in the bathroom even dimmed for a relaxing bath! I loved the tea and coffee setup. There were coathooks by the door which was really convenient. Gorgeous property.

The pictures online looked very unique! However when I got there, I was so disappointed. When I walked in the room it smelt old, the ceilings had cracks in it, the sheets had hair in it (we specifically asked for a no pet room), and to top it off there WAS SH** UNDER OUR MATTRESS!! Needless to say, I won’t be staying here every again…
If you stay upstairs, the only way is through one stairwell, it’s a pain to haul all your luggage up and down the stairs.

The staff was friendly, but the service was very poor. My toddler had an accident on the bed, and I had requested a change of sheets in the morning. At the end of the day upon returning to the room, there was no change of sheets. It is also very confusing why there is an extra charge for the "amenities", when the actual "amenities" are considered the bed, bathroom and heater.
I don't think we will stay here again. It's probably fine if you aren't traveling with children.

This is such a cute hotel! You cant tell from the outside, but once inside you feel as if you have been tranported to another time. The bar area is beautiful, the cafe serves awesome coffee and pastries, they have a fun game room, and this hotel is dog friendly! I will definitely stay here again.

This is a great location and beautifully re done, from an old hotel. The walls are THIIIN. we heard both rooms next to us one with a fighting couple and the other with a kid who screamed a lot. It was not a good night sleep. Otherwise it was what we needed for a stopping point before the Grand Canyon.

We absolutely loved this hotel!! The rooms were very comfortable and modern. We absolutely loved the courtyard and lounge. The vibe was amazing. It’s not everyday you find a location that adults can sit, relax and socialize while your kids are also enjoying themselves. We will absolutely be back.

We didn't last 30 minutes on this property. As soon as we opened the door to our room we quickly determined we wouldn't be able to stay there, and had to find a new hotel last minute after a long day of travel. This is the landlord special on an old motel: the rooms felt cheap, dark, and dingy with a few "hipster" elements to try to distract from the underlying state. Walls are paper thin to the point where we could hear very soft conversations happening in the rooms all around. Check in was slammed and chaotic. I would have fought for a refund but the lobby and single-person front desk was super busy, there is no email address on their website, and the only phone number is an 866 and I just couldn't bring myself to waste anymore time. Wildly overpriced compared to nearby options, and an illusion of nice & cute that is just cheap and lazy underneath. Quite a bummer... we are pretty tolerant and low-maintenance with our accommodations usually but this whole place just felt bad, we couldn't get out of there fast enough. Feels like some weird stuff probably went down there before they "flipped" it to try to make it cool and hip.

I’m going to be as honest and fare as possible on this. First off I want to say the property is beautiful and well designed. They did an amazing job with the little touches to give the guest a very retro yet classy feel. The rooms are spacious and very cozy. The lobby area has great seating and a boutique shop that has a very well stocked supply of snacks, coffee, souvenirs, etc. We were please to see that the property had a well thought out game room area, especially since we were traveling with teenagers. The patio had more than enough fire pits for guests to sit and enjoy hot cocoa or make smores. The pool area was adequate for the size of the property even though we didn’t use it due to the time of year. The property has to saunas that you can reserve for 50 minutes at an additional cost of $50. You will need to book the sauna as soon as possible because they filled up reservations quickly. This may have been because of the holiday season though. The saunas we a very relaxing addition to our stay and worth every penny.
Now for our constructive criticism, the property was short staffed which caused our stay to be less than ideal for the prices we paid. We asked for our room to be serviced, never happened. Bar tender was less than genuine and gave the appearance of being inconvenienced when asked for anything. Manager gave excuses for lack of service, would have eased the issue and went a long way if he offered a comp drink, etc. We will give them another chance though.
