Unfortunately the area is a bit sketchy especially at night. I was not very comfortable leaving my cars, but we were stuck. The staff is friendly for the most part except those working the front desk on personal phone calls or talking to a friend hanging out with them. Our room the closet door was falling off the one hinge and restroom door wouldn’t shut without body weight. Rooms are small and good for up to 2 people. Not wise for more than 2 days.

Clean and quiet. Close to Whittier College. Good staff. Restaurants, bakery, movie theater and other small businesses within walking distance in downtown Whittier. Charming town. Good accessibility.

Arrived and check in was effortless.
Room was as advertised and sufficient.
Hotel area is great as is a legitimate hidden gem area. Very beautiful and safe small town vibe.

Overall the stay was okay. Depending on when your room is located it can be a distance in walking. The fire alarm went off twice in our 4 day stay which woke us up startled. We asked for towels and toilet paper meanwhile we stepped out, once we got back nothing we asked for was there. For it being a double tree I don’t believe the price is worth it.

I had a reservation for a king bed pre paid 3rd party arrived my wife checked us in gave us a room with 2 double beds and fridge sounded like a propeller. So I went down and was told by manager all fridges sound like that so I asked for a room transfer into a king bed what I paid for so they put me in a room with king bed but was handicap which wasn’t a problem. I had a 2 day stay so my wife and I left the next morning asked front desk for an earl cleaning of room when we returned at 2:00 PM room was not cleaned so my wife and I where leaving again at 5:00 PM so I was going down at that time and ask for cleaning. At 4:30 PM maid shows up I make Her aware my wife and I are leaving at 5:00 PM if she could return she said is off at 5:00 PM not a pleasant stay.

The staff are amazing. They care about their guests. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The only thing to note is that the walls are very thin. You can hear the other guests from your hotel room and vice versa. It's still a great hotel.

The employees I saw were friendly. The room was updated and had everything I needed. Plenty of easy free parking and WiFi. Only negative was the mattress was pretty hard.

This is my 5th visit here and it’s convenient, bed was comfortable, room was clean and staff is friendly. Parking is free which is convenient. Great hotel overall.

Location is great. Staff is ok but nothing special, even though we stayed over New Yorks eve. Room was smelly but clean.

Lobby is spacious and attractively decorated and rooms are clean and well appointed. No on-site eating but some snacks are available for purchase. There is a bar in the lobby but not open until midday.

The water pressure in the shower is horrible. They also need to clean the shower head. It’s full of calcium. The light fixtures didn’t work.

The location of this facility is located in beautiful Whittier. It was super convenient making my way to downtown LA. The traffic there and back was perfect regardless of me going back and forth in one day. The staff we more than just excellent, they were super accommodating, friendly and super empathetic to everyone I've seen them interact with.
My only 1 issue with this place is that it does need a super remodel of their rooms. I stayed on the second floor and it was convenient, but the air running in the room spelled like mold. As soon as we turned on the air and walked out so that we could come back to a cool room, we didn't think nothing about it until we returned to the room. The room was filled with a moldy smell and we had to immediately turn off the air because we didn't want to sleep breathing it in, even though we were going to either way because we left the air on. The filters need to be cleaned out ASAP in order for other customers to stay in their rooms.

Whenever I travel to the area, Doubletree is my place to stay. Sadly, I was very disappointed with my recent stay and realized the property and its infrastructure is old. Due to issues with cleanliness, they switched our room minutes after settling into it. The new room wasn’t much better as we discovered on our second day…it had an electrical outlet box that was loose from the wall (a real safety concern) because it had been jimmy rigged to stay in place. The only good thing about our stay was the front desk was responsive about the inconveniences we encountered and did a good job compensating us for it. Next visit though, I may have to consider another Doubletree property to stay at. Their rates shouldn’t come with these types of inconveniences IMO.

The stay was good. The conditioner was empty and the filter on the cooler pump was definitely moldy or had mildew and it irritated my asthma, BUT all the staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean!

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Especially Bree at the front desk! NO complimentary coffee on Weekdays which makes NO sense and is unlike any Hilton where I've stayed. Deal breaker #1.
Had to ask for my Room Refresh twice. Still wasn't done. Had to ask for trash bags and towels/washcloths and did it myself. Deal breaker #2. This hotel was definitely not the normal Hilton experience.

The fridge in my room was broken and it kept making noise throughout the night. The usb ports did not work to charge my electronics, and it also smell like cigarettes.

This part of Whittier is so nice. The area is near any type of food you could want within walking distance. Ricks across the street has great burgers and breakfast burritos. The bakery across the street is also bomb. The hotel is nice and parking is free. The staff was all very kind and accommodating. And the best part is Bree. Bri? The young lady working the front desk. She will make your trip and stay even more fun and special. Also they have warm cookies. Free warm cookies!

I didn't like that i booked a king room and when i arrived here i got moved to a double Full size and when i said then ill take a queen room. She correct herself and said it is a queen room( not queen) bathroom was dirty with hair in the drain and on the handy cap bench in the shower.
