Apartotel Villa del Rio were a great find! Our stay was comfortable and affordable. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Our suite was very spacious and clean. We come to Costa Rica often to visit extended family and we have found our new favorite place to stay in San Jose!

In Escazu. Upscale. I stayed for 3 weeks while doing some dental/vacationing. Breakfast is excellent with fruit, cheese, pastries, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, juice, eggs made to order. Self laundry on site. Struct Entry guard/gate. Staff works hard to please. Reasonable price.

This is one of the best places I ve stayed at here in Costa Rica. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. There are two pools and one of them is heated, which was so nice! The room are spacious and very clean. The location is great walking distance to shopping and restaurants.

Out of our several stays to San Jose, this one was probably the best because of the quality and hospitality. Very clean, quiet, all the personnel was nice, kind and helpful with all our needs. the area is pretty walkable, and there is a couple of shops and restaurants close by. We didn't rent a car, and we used Uber for further rides. There are two pools, and one of them is heated. We really enjoyed our stay.

Nice property with large suites. Working staff very nice and respectful. Note that smaller 1-bedroom suites do not have air conditioner in main living area, but only a wall mounted unit in the bedroom. Two-bedroom units are fully air conditioned. Free breakfast is basically some fruits, breads and sliced cheese, juice and basic coffee. No eggs or oatmeal, etc. Omelets ($4), nicer coffees ($3 to $4), etc. are available for an extra charge. Low grade breakfast was a real disappointment; nothing compared to the breakfast at Marriott Residence Inn (fabulous breakfast).

The spaciousness of the property was great. The fitness center was nice and the one pool that was open was great. There was a lot of construction and repairs happening while we were there. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was very limited and they charged extra for some things even though it was included.

Rooms need updating but there is a current renovation happening right now. Some of the staff during breakfast not very friendly. Front office staff was very friendly . Great location to be able to walk or short drives to popular places in town.
