Arrived, Motel 6, Barstow Stayed 3-13-24 to 3-14-24 Decent enough for a bargain price. Don’t expect a lot of amenities that more expensive hotels have though. This is a motel after all, offering the basics, which is fine for the price. NOTE: if you like Black Bear Diner, be sure to look for it directly across the street once you’re at traffic signal, after you leave the motel area. Great service and good food. If you’ve never been there, beware, the portions are HUGE! And the biscuits are practically the size of a small cake! One breakfast plate is definitely shareable. PROS - When I first got here, I thought there was urine drops on the toilet seat. Called the front office and they sent House Cleaning up right away. Turns out it was just part of the cleaning solution that the cleaner did not notice. - Clean king-sized bed with the mattress completely enclosed in a zippered mattress protector, and then another mattress protector (like a fitted sheet) on top of that. - Checked for bedbugs, all clear. - Microwave oven - Mini refrigerator - Standard TV - Luggage rack CONS - No electrical outlets by the bed - Long bathroom vanity, however, only one sink instead of two. - noisy heater/AC combo - No Kleenex - no ironing board/iron - Teeny tiny bars of soap (so less waste) - very near freeway, noisy traffic, at least my room was.

I have to say this was the cleanest, nicest Motel 6 I have ever stayed in! I wish all of them were this good! My only complaint would be the fridge rattled a bit (room 105)...it was a little distracting and I thought it might keep me awake but it didn't.

Staff was great, room for the most part was clean (bathroom was surface clean but baseboards have not been cleaned in a bit). You can hear everything from rain drops, people talking next door, and dogs barking. Biggest annoyance was they have sheet metal like frames around the beds and we were constantly hitting them (literally no way not to hit them when getting on or off the bed) and they were so loud when you did. We could hear the neighbors hitting theirs (we did laugh at first but then it was constant and not good when others were sleeping) and I don't see the point to them. It was a great price and only one night. Best part no bugs (you know the 2 main bugs in referring to).

I’ve stayed at many Motel 6’s. This was not unlike many others; standard amenities and everything was in working order. I’ve actually never had a bad Motel 6 stay. This one was very clean.

Good clean rooms ! Nice cable. Close to Freddy’s Steakburgers and McDonald’s with the Pilot Truckstop next door! Plenty of big rig parking and large recreational vehicles!

The best Motel 6 we’ve stayed in! We couldn’t ask for more, and loved the location near the open desert where we could walk the dog before we left. We hope to visit again.

We stopped by early in the morning before check-in to say we wanted a ground floor. When we came back 7 hours later at 6 PM we were told we did have a ground floor but it was not quite ready. After a couple of phone calls the room was ready and when we entered it had a strong smell of deodorant/cleaning smell. When my kids took off their shoes and went barefoot on the floor that was not carpet they quickly got dirty and when they jumped on the beds while watching TV some of that dirt transferred. We had to wipe their feet with baby wipes before going to bed. The room was quiet from freeway noise but the fan in the AC needed to be turned off because of the noise.

Good location, appears to be a newer motel 6. A little more detail to cleaning could be addressed. On top bathtub shower wall ledge hadn’t been wiped in quite some time.

I’ve stayed at many motel 6s. This had to be the worst. The gal behind the bullet proof glass was very grumpy. The floor of our room made the bottoms of my feet black! Then the toilet began to bubble up who knows what from the floor. The grumpy front desk person did find us another room. This room was a tad better. However the bed was like a slab of marble. Beyond that, the property is very convenient to I15 and several eateries are in walking distance. My wife reminds me that there was a gap under the front door big enough for unwanted critters to join us.

Arrived at 12am and at 6am a dog in the room above me started barking for about 30 minutes. Bed was uncomfortable mattress on a metal slat frame like a cot

The property was fine. The customer service is terrible. Housekeeping was terrible. They never came to clean my room and when I asked the front desk for clean towels, they said they would let housekeeping know, but that they didn’t guarantee that I’d get any then we saw housekeeping in the hallway And she said she didn’t have any clean towels for us. When I checked in the lady at the reception, gave the lady ahead of me away different customer service experience than I received. I almost want to say it was a bit racist. The lady that checked in before me was white And I am Mexican. The next morning there was a gentleman at the reception which I asked to borrow a pen and said I would bring it back. He very kindly let me borrow the pen I did bring it back. He was actually the only one that was very decent. We will definitely never stay at this location when we visit family in the future.
