The staff was amazing! Every single staff member that I interacted with was pleasant, and helpful. I can honestly say this is the best staff experience I have ever had.

We were given the wrong room. The first night we decided to eat at the Bistro which was a huge mistake. We waited 90 minutes for our food only to find out they ran out of what we ordered and substituted the food for something else without telling us. Then for breakfast the next morning they had no one to work so we had to walk to the closest place in 50 degree weather and through and under a bridge where there were several homeless people and it was a tense feeing. Overall the hotel and service was good but was unhappy with the Bistro and original room selection.

Unfortunately had someone attempt to rob us by following us into the hotel lobby "they didnt need a key to get in"....besides that the customer servive wasbt good and the required valet parking was unorganized. The rooms were pretty nice though

Hotel was clean and room was larger than expected. The hotel had no amenities despite claims they did. There was never coffee downstairs, no room service available, restaurant was closed except for breakfast, no microwave in room. $4.50 for a soda from the "market" next to the front desk. Rooms cleaned only on request, even for a 3 night stay. No soap or shampoo, tiny amount of kleenex and toilet paper. No ice machine on our floor. ADA room was very far from elevators. Parking was$50 day and off site. Despite all this, the staff was very friendly.

Great stay, the front desk people were so helpful. Centrally located easy to get around. We were able to walk to and from the Fox Theatre, returning late at night and felt safe. We walked up the street to the Blue Bottle for Great coffee and breakfast in the morning.

Excellent stay. The Front desk staff were so nice & helpful with anything we needed. The food at the cafe was delicious and priced reasonably. I will definitely stay at this location again.

This is a hidden gem in Oakland. The Suite is very large and only a few more dollars that a regular room - worth the price! The pull out sofa bed was not comfortable at all but worked well as a sofa. The entire hotel is SPOTLESS! I was very surprised how clean it was. The rooms were immaculate and the grounds and common areas were well maintained and never say debris anywhere. Hard to do when they serve complimentary popcorn in the lobby! All the staff were fantastic. I've never been asked how was my stay and when I left, I truly felt like they wanted me back. The valet parking is a but higher than most places but the attendants were amazingly quick. The car was there before the elevator from the 4th floor after calling for it from the room. It was difficult to find anything wrong with this place.

Everything was great really. But, the AC didn't work in our room. When i told them, they just said they'd make note. But there was no attempt at a sorry for the inconvenience gesture. I mean, a small discount or something would have been appreciated. Knock a fee or two off or something. But, the ataff was really nice, and the inside of the hotel was really clean and quiet.

I didn’t like the assembly of women “on display” in a super low light lobby. I didn’t understand the “staff” greeting us with “what do you need here” and further, “you can park in a space for valet yourself because the back is full”. I did not get the 2nd employee who kept looking out the glass doors to the street at 1:00 a.m. Would loved to have stayed at your hotel down the street. It’s beautiful and the staff professional. We thought our reservation was there. The lesson here…..you get what you pay for when you pay 169.00 for a hotel/motel in the Bay Area.

Overall the stay was good. The room was clean & nice. My only complaint would be I booked a double bed room. When I got to the hotel they told me the double bed room I got was closed for maintenance? So we got stuck with a king bed and a sofa bed that is the size of a twin mattress. Being that there was 4 of us it made our sleeping situation very awkward. It would have been nice for them to have let us know ahead of time to give us the chance to get another hotel.

The room was paid for by Mark’s Mother as Mark does not have a credit card. Since he has no card, the hotel would not let him check in. I told the front desk that I would text a picture of my card but they would not accept that as it is not their policy. So I am out $156. for the room tonight.

We spent a nice long weekend in Oakland and found the staff at this hotel to be the most accommodating we've ever encountered. Our room had a bit of a smoke smell so the staff immediately put us in a new room. They also helped us with our TV, hooked us up with some tea, and were just genuinely very friendly.

The property maintains the high standard we expect from a Marriott. Staff were excellent, and facilities were clean and in good condition. We didn't have a microwave in our room, but otherwise the room was as expected. There is no evening meal service here (typical of Courtyard properties) and while there are a number of nearby restaurants, we were cautious about walking around after dark. We selected the location because of its proximity to the 12th and Broadway BART station (2 blocks away) which provided a quick 15-minute trip into downtown San Francisco. The safe and convenient valet parking at the hotel (although not inexpensive) sealed the deal for us.

The pool is a bonus. It was well-kept and warm. The gym had a few machines, but the property is close to Merritt Lake which has a decent walking path. The problem was that that they charge for incidentals? and it's been 3 weeks....they have not reversed it. Got an email from Vladimir Ossipyants, the manager who said, " I will share your message with our leadership team. I understand your frustration about not getting incidentals within a few days. Unfortunately, hotel does not any input to expedite this process. Sometimes banks hold the incidentals longer than they should." Yes - permanently apparently. :(

I usually stay at the Ramada but never again. Courtyard had a beautiful room, much more spacious, superior amenities. I will book here going forward.

The parking to check-in was confusing. The free breakfast host was unfriendly & rude. The valet lost the keys to the car, took 30 min to retrieve our car.
