We had a lovely time here due to the delightful staff and lovely setting BUT(and this is a substantial BUT) the management should do a better job explaining that the “ocean view Balcony king” has a communal balcony on the other side of the walkway- there is no view from the room because you have to keep your curtains drawn or folks walking by can see right into your room. This was not what we were expecting- which could have been a problem- but honestly the staff was so excellent that you decide it’s not a big deal.which is a theme for Key West- come prepared to be easygoing- you will have a great time. And the resort is a very nice place to stay. Allen, Guillermo, Diane…just to name a few. Everyone I saw who was having fun was being nice to others. Folks who want to stake out chairs, control space, and “get theirs” you will be frustrated.

I find it necessary to write to you about my very disappointing experience at Southernmost Firstly I booked a room with an ocean view, I got that but it was a shared walkway - i did not see ANY photos showing a shared walkway Due to the shared walkway the area directly outside my room had some tables and chairs which were used by other people and this was directly in front of my room / view. (six feet from my window) This meant I had to shut the curtains and could not see the view, period, ridiculous Alexa moved us after my complaint, to a room which i would describe as a partial ocean view, not a full view because I had to go outside to see the view and I looked directly opposite to all the other rooms / balconies I was going to complain again but I was so irritated by the whole experience, I decided to leave it and write to you instead When I checked in and due to my status i should receive an upgrade but what i received was a room degrade. To add insult to injury i just paid over $350 in resort fees After spending over $1,000 + per night i expected much more from a hotel described as an international getaway

We stayed at the main resort and it was the best ever! Staff was so friendly and hotel room was very clean with new towels daily. Highly suggest SM!

We loved the location! It was just a block down from the beach and walkable right off of duval street which was perfect because you can walk clear across the island from duval street. The staff was great too, because every morning they helped me get my tea water going. However I would prefer there'd be a tea making machine in the resort rooms.

Very nice people. Always asking if everything is good with you. Traded rooms with a partial ocean view and it made a big difference. Loved the place.

Disappointing overall. I was excited to stay at a luxury resort at the beach only to find that I had a small, remodeled motel room which overlooked a parking lot 3 blocks from the beach - classic bait and switch! Shared my balcony with the room next door - divided by a canvas sheet tied around the middle of the balcony. VERY poor light in the backroom for make-up, or anything. A trickle shower. No bar soap - had to wash my face with hand soap. I had booked early and costs were very high, but okay it's an island, only to get there and chat with others who had a room much closer to the ocean and paid HALF of what I did. There were many other little annoyances. I cannot recommend this place and will not stay there again, even for half the cost.

We had to kill a little cockroach in the room but the guy at the front desk had beauuutiful blue eyes and they switched our room, so we have nothing to say, it was a good excuse to go back to see the front desk attendant. Oh and the wifi did not work. But still awesome front desk attendant.

I loved all of the places we could go to hang out or spend part of our day. The beach, all the pools, the adirondack chairs, and walkways. The resort is tropical and beautiful, very clean and everyone was very friendly!

I absolutely love this property! It was the 6th time since 2020 I have stayed at the Southernmost. This time they were booked when I called directly so I made my reservation through Expedia. Upon arrival - I was not put into the proper room but it was too late to deal with. Both the Expedia staff as well as the resort staff handled it like pros the next morning! Every staff member onsite from front desk, house keeping, spa, beach bar and pool bar are always top notch folks. Can't wait for my 7th trip down.

Overall property was great. Very limited beach area. Sand bar was closed. Biggest complaint is "heated" pools were not heated.

Shower has almost no pressure, so couple of us went to take a shower at the clubhouse even there the showerhead is broken and no pressure. They said they would sent maintaince to fix it but even then the issue wasnt fixed. other than that good place to stay

Bathroom door hinges were loose, door did not close properly They did try to repair it. The main door to the room did not close properly and the balcony door did not close properly. There was a craft show couple days after we got there the clanking of setting up the tent right outside of our room was annoying at 7 AM or 8 AM whatever time it started. Overall, we enjoyed our stay they did give us some compensation.

Good- good service, nice private beach access, close to Duval. Bad- rooms were too cold or too hot. The mattress protector is plastic so half of you is sweating while the other half of you is freezing from the AC. The beds was very uncomfortable. THE ugly- those darn roosters kept us up all night everynight. It didnt matter is it was sunrise or 3am, we didnt sleep a wink for our 4 night trip.

I prepaid a deposit to secure my room and rate and the hotel at their discretion charged way way more the last few days than agreed upon. Had to leave very early my day of checkout so didn’t have a chance to review my bill till we got home. Very dissapointed!

Not a lot of gathering space typical of resorts, no table in the room, no place to play a game on windy / rainy days. Closet smelled very musty / mildewy. Door had no security latch and a gaping slat that let light through. Lavazza coffee machine, but only espresso cups? Deluxe king was motel style with stairway open to the street. Very overpriced for the room. Left a day early, would not stay at this property again, even in a nicer room. Should have booked at Opal.
