Really enjoyed staying at the Grand. Wonderful views from the balcony. Good food in the restaurant. A super friendly staff.

The first impression from the outside is dreadful, dirty and run down, we sat in the taxi and our jaws dropped.Go inside and the reception area is rather underwhelming, then the cigarette smoke hits you and the poor condition inside. The smoke smell is everywhere, comes out of the casino and goes up the stairs, we were on the second floor and could smell it as soon as we opened our door, the foyer area stunk, and it flowed into the dining area. The No smoking non vaping signs outside the front door ignored and the hotel does nothing about it, people smoke and vape in the pool area and on the outside bar area. This place would be great if you like the stench of old smoke and don't mind smoke drifting into your personal space, the smell goes through at least the first 2 floors, we never went any higher, the lifts also stunk of what I don't know, but they were rather putrid. We had a panorama room, room size was good and fittings pretty good, the view is amazing. The pool area really has no shade so not an area you can spend much time in, even if you don't mind other people's smoke. The breakfast was ok, nothing special but did the job. The Alacarte menu, is rather hit and miss, did not have a decent meal there, except for fish and chips. Staff were very friendly and helpful cannot fault them; it is also a good position.
The grout on the floor in the foyer area and dining area is absolutely filthy, needs a thorough refurb downstairs. All rooms have a view, Avoid first floor !!

We spent 6 days at the Grand Hotel and we completely love it! Starting from the staff, they are such a lovely people who take care of all our needs and always with a smile on their faces.
The food was also delicious, and the view was glorious. We super recommend this place

Hotel is okay and very good location close to town and also ATM machines are the highlight for me, it’s the first pacific island states I visited and have so many machines which is very convenient for tourist. Excellent. Thanks Port Villa for the beautiful scenery.

The fridge door was broken, bathroom door can’t close, no shower cap! Shampoo and conditioner need to call room service to obtain and buffet was prepaid upon booking but the hotel still charged us until we complained to the management, the next day, they charged us for 2 coffees!

Hotel location works for the market & shops further up in town. Hotel is ok for an overnight transfer wouldn’t suggest staying for a ‘holiday’.

After every shower the bathroom floor flooded and was very slippery and dangerous. Asked for pool towels but none available, had to ask each day for in room towels the colour was meant to be white but they were brown and thin. Terrible sewerage smell around pool and outside dining. All out side chairs had holes and uncomfortable to sit. Overall building and contents very old and well passed its use by date. Cannot swim in the pool because over chlorinate burn skin and eyes.

Although Vanuatu has just opened up to tourism, the grand really needs a makeover, it looks tired and needs modernisation, the carpets in the hallways definitely need a good clean, repairs needed to be done in the lifts, (broken light covers), it just needs to be brought up to a good standard of a 4 star hotel…. Cannot fault the friendliness of the staff

The hotel has an excellent location in the township. Easy to organise day trips and as a base to explore the island. The view was fabulous and the room very clean and comfortable. Many restaurants in the vicinity to choose from. The staff in the hotel were very helpful and very professional. Taxis to and from the airport easy to arrange.

Nothig much. However hotel very badly needs overall refabrication. Lift stinks wash basin needs replacement such as pipes etc. Menus in the dining room need more variety plus more quality of the food to be upgraded.

This is a Great Hotel, Awesome location, so close and handy to everything, located in the downtown main street, brilliant restaurant bar and Casino on site, amazing staff that are So helpful and friendly.

Well located in the centre of Port Vila. The hotel was comfortable and clean and the staff were very nice.

Great staff and service generally good. Property showing some signs of age. Smoking allowed on others balconys goes straight into our room. as a non smoker this was not acceptable. Most properties have banned smoking unless outside property this needs to be adopted.

This is a great hotel on the bay with very nice, clean rooms - friendly and courteous staff and delicious morning buffet! Highly recommend!
