Great option near train station, but can just enhance bathroom as the shower is open and gets the entire room wet, making it slippery and dangerous. Other than that, fabulous!

Asked for a quiet room and they put us at the back in basement-like room. Room was nice and the bed was great. However, we got woken up and kept awake as there was a lot of activity and noise outside the room in the corridor. Seems to be night staff moving items around. Very annoying! Told the receptionist at checkout but got no response whatsoever which was also not a great experience.

very comfortable if slightky small room at the back looking over a park, so very quiet. Nice staff, pleasant bar (and they gave a voucher for a free drink, which was nice).

Hotel should say where car park is located, not easy to find. Also, while trying to enter the hotel, my wife was set upon by three women who tried to steal from her. A very traumatic experience which didn't seem to surprise the hotel staff. Location was great and staff were very efficient, however, our stay was disappointing.

Stayed in new wing. Underwhelming rooms and hallways - harsh lighting, budget floor coverings, no art etc. Electrical malfunctioned in middle of night resulting in emergency lights turning on. Had to relocate to another room half way thru night. No compensation, not even a complementary bottle of wine. Area isn't great either, but the hotel can't be responsible for that.

I stayed just one night but everything ok and cool, very beatiful and comfortable the bed, a futon in high position. Near to the center city you can park very nearto the hotel.

The hotel is located outside of the ZTL zone but just around the border so one might accidentally enter the ZTL zone, like us, when driving to the hotel. Best is to set route to avoid ZTL zone on Waze and don’t get lost. The hotel staff is super friendly and helpful. The car park is located literally next to the hotel and is gated and exclusively for hotel guest so a plus. Excellent breakfast buffet spread. The hotel has excellent dining options including a Michelin starred restaurant. The only thing we didn’t like was the uncarpeted floor in the room and relatively small shower stall. The hotel is in the city center so very convenient to walk around for sight seeing and shopping.

The general experience was extremely positive, from the arrival at their parking, the check in and the room. Everything was very good, staff is kind and helpful, room is very clean and spotless, amenities at your disposal, comfortable bed. Breakfast is rich with quality products, I found organic jams and honey which I use to buy for myself and the environment of breakfast room is delightful (Eden theatre). Also, hotel is situated in the heart of the city, making it an ideal location for your stay in Bologna. This all makes it a wonderful experience, you leave with a smile on your face.

Lovely hotel. Reception helpful and recommended a lovely restaurant for dinner. Only gripe was they didn’t point out that Euro 15 beverage allowance I had could not be used with the mini bar in the room. Petty and irritating that it couldn’t be removed . Otherwise I would have given the hotel a higher rating

Great location to walk into centre. Great breakfast. Comfortable room. Most of the staff are really nice and helpful. They also have a cookery school in the centre.

Well located close to the heart of Bologna, staff was nice but not over accomodating. Room was old, bathroom needs update and sheets of the bed were not comfortable. Elevators are small. I wouldnt stay there again.

The I Portici Hotel far exceeded our expectations. This was our first visit to Bologna and the location was the greatest benefit for us. It was within walking distance to plenty of shopping, dining, tourist attractions, and most importantly the train station. The Pizzeria Portici on the 2nd floor in the hotel was outstanding. The cafe downstairs had a kiosk where you could order in Italian or English which made things much easier. The service and the food were superb! The employees at the front desk were extremely helpful and they recommended an amazing Restaurante Osteria dell 'Orsa, which I highly recommend. When visiting Bologna in the future we will definitely stay here again!

Very nice hotel, good location but quite noisy during the night if you sleep with an open window and somebody else his/het hair in the bathroom is ugly and of course bad service. That’s a pity as generally speaking the hotel is good!

Beautiful hotel with the friendliest staff and tastiest food. Ideal location near the station and 3 minutes walking distance from the city center. The next time i'm going to Bologna i'll definitely book a room here again.

We only stayed one night, but wished we had stayed longer. We were kindly upgraded to a suite which was really appreciated. Breakfast was amazing. Overall staff very friendly and accommodating. Location is walkable from centre of town and from the railway station.

Staff was uncommonly helpful, gracious & attentive. The buffet breakfast was the best I have ever had, in every category. Also, an uplifting setting, artful etc. my son and I thoroughly enjoyed our upgrade, given to us after my son reported a me at of fruit flies in our initial room.

Excellent location. Very helpful front staff. Great gelato recommendation we will always be grateful and remember. Also helpful with getting us a taxi away from Bologna.

Beautiful rooms., though
bed could be bigger.Breakfast is just not enough for price ,not for Michelin*No ro vegetables(just tomatoes) .Very profesionalni employees .

It was summer and the Hotel could not get our room air-conditioning to work effectively or consistently without with continual noise of the system cutting in and out which is big problem during the night.

By far the most unique “family room” we’ve stayed in but it was great. We were a family of 4 with 2 little children and each had their own bed in this 5th floor (room 580) open space room.
The elevator is tiny, the stairs are plenty but the room was great. It gave us appropriate space for our family and a huge bathroom for bath for the girls and showers for us!
The hotel staff was very accommodating. The pizzeria on the 2nd floor was delightful abd the hotel recommendation for great dining was on poin (Osteria 051)
We would define stay here again
The only downfall was we walked to the Piazza everyday and it’s a good 12 minute walk

Beautiful building and reception. The rooms felt very old and bathroom was anything but modern. Only rainshower, no possibility to only shower the body. Wonderful breakfast. Overall a nice stay but would not stay here again since I prefer something more modern and comfortable.

This is an efficient, welcoming, modern hotel; very friendly and helpful staff.
It's very close to the train station, and then to the City Center. We walked everywhere we went, so it follows the location worked really well for us. Being along a main drag, Via dell'Independenza, it was always easy to find our way back tho it was our first trip to Bologna.
Our room was functional and then some; very sufficient for our purpose.
There is a bar on premises and a restaurant which has a Michelin star.

Comfortable hotel within walking distance of the train station and the downtown area. Fun market and concert was going on next door. Staff was very helpful and we enjoyed the breakfast, which was an additional charge.

When I arrived, there was a big queue at the check-in. They gave me then the wrong room with a single bed than a queen bed (as booked).
When I checked out, I had again to wait 10 minutes. Staff is rather slow and not experienced.
Room was okay, but nothing special. But for the rate I paid, more or less okay.
Also Bologna appears to suffer from overtourism. Servive personnel are often as in this hotel foreigners with bad training.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was beautiful and comfortable and more than anything, the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating to all our questions and needs. I would highly recommend staying here.

Not worth the money. Super tiny room and bed

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and we love it for the building’s charm and the exceptional staff who should be congratulated for superb service.
Downsides: rooms can be noisy at night due to the central location (vehicles and people) and our shower was low pressure but remember that this was our second stay and we would stay there again so that speaks volumes.
