Good hotel. But breakfast could have more variety

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Fron. We got there about 7:30am on 3.22.24 and we werent suppose to check in til the afternoon. The person said go eat at the buffet and you room will be ready when you finish. Didnt charge us extra for checking in 7 hours early and got a free breakfast.
Also stayed there 3.29 to 3.31.24. Had an absolutely huge room with a jacuzzi tub. Very nice. Hotel was clean, people were friendly, breakfast buffet had good options, and i had quient rooms both times. Would recommend if you want to stay where the shopping and food is located.

When I arrived I had a problem with the parking, the first receptionist (who was not so friendly and was barely there), told me that I had to park on the street since I had to reserve the parking space and I didn’t, which they didn’t notified me).
And the other receptionist in the breakfast time was very friendly and attentive so it made my stay better.
The hotel was clean and cozy, it has everything you need and the breakfast buffet is really good.

Hotel was ok. Very good location. Nice breakfast lots to choose from.
Room was ok not perfectly clean and shower we had was terrible. There was no water pressure. You had either no shower or boiling shower. And the water smell is not very nice too. It’s more buildings so for breakfast you have to walk from one building to another. Staff not very friendly.
Beds were ok and night time was quiet apart from people smashing the door. But excellent location. Everything near by shops, restaurant. Room was cold night time for the weather we had.

Check in was very efficient. We stayed for 4 nights in a 1 bedroom apartment on the 4th floor. The kitchinette provided a microwave, kettle, coffee maker and fridge but we didn’t have a stove top as shown in some images. The hotel is conveniently located in the city centre so very easy to get to all of the main attractions. The only downside to this was that on most nights you can hear loud music from the bars, on the first evening this went on till 3am and then at 6am the street cleaners start work. The breakfast was good and provided a good variety. Overall the hotel was a good choice, it was clean, convenient and provided a good service.

This location was perfect for our stay! We had a studio and it was nice to have a fridge and microwave. It is great to have no traffic noise! No cars allowed on this street and Rainbow Rd behind it. Plenty of shops and restaurants. Bus stop 700 ft from hotel. Uphill with your luggage on arrival. Breakfast is average but appreciated as food is very expensive in Iceland. Markets across the street open 24/7. Reviews said it is noisy from local bars and this is true. I use white noise app so it was ok. Overall great stay due to location.

We stayed in a lovely apartment at Hotel Fron. It was very specious and clean. The location was perfect. Our only complaint was street noise (so many cars blaring loud music until at least midnight) and a dumpster out one of our windows. When the trash was picked up, you could really smell the garbage which wasn’t pleasant. If you keep windows closed (we were hot so kept ours open at night) these probably wouldn’t be an issue.

Very comfortable bed, we slept like babies :)
The room was properly heated, breakfast was included, location is in the epicenter of the city, lots of restaurants and bars around, quiet sleep, decent shower.
We wish there was hot food like scrambled eggs and bacon at the breakfast, now there was only yoghurt, bread, juice etc.
Most probably would stay here again :)

Clean comfortable room. Great breakfast. Friendly and convivial. Very convenient to lots of shops and restaurants. Only a short easy walk to bus stop #6, a major pick up and drop off point for bus tours and airport transfer.

Friendly and helpful staff. We ran into some trouble with our luggage and travel documents. The gentleman working the overnight shift on Nov 16-17 went over and beyond to help me make some calls to ensure we have the proper solution. Thank you, I really appreciate the help to reassure a stressed out traveller.

The apartment was big but the shower was tiny. The sink in bathroom was super tiny and you need the strength of a weight lifter to turn on the water. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff accommodating.

This was a nice little place for our first day in Iceland. It is centrally located to the heart of the city. The only thing to be aware of is that the hotel is on a street that is open only to walkers. Parking is scarce and the less expensive parking is quite a walk. The room was nice and so was the breakfast. I would stay here again.

Water smelled like sulfur in shower & faucets but aside from that - adorable accommodations, VERY friendly staff, amazing location right in the heart of downtown Reykjavik! Parking in the area comes at a premium and isn’t free with your stay (due to very limited spaces), but was worth paying the extra $13 or so for. Overall - definitely recommend and would stay there again!

Nice small hotel centrally located - easy to walk to any bus stop and sightseeing! Breakfast options are very limited! I wish they would add salmon instead of herring!

We booked a room with double bed, it is clean but too small for 2 ppl, no space to open our luggages! The wire of electic boiler is too short that i need to place it on floor. Nevertheless, overall it is satsifactory~

101 was a quiet room in the annexe at the rear of the hotel entrance.
The only noise I heard was from the room above when I assume they had an early morning departure.
Definitely recommend this hotel- in fact, I’m happy to be returning in 10 days

Stayed here 2 nights, once at beginning of trip and then again at the end. Great location! Rooms were clean, staff helpful, breakfast abundant. Not a lot of parking but it wasn't an issue finding a spot on the street. Would recommend!

Very nice room right in the heart of town. Easy to walk around to the cute shops and amazing restaurants. Also, I forgot an expensive item in the room and they were very kind to hold it for me until it could be picked up.

Got in late night. There was a bit of a language barrier. The room was small but useable. Bath had hair wrapped around faucet. Breakfast staff not friendly at all.

Our room was small but had great views of the city! Our room was comfy and clean. The hotel was in the perfect location for us to explore the city! Breakfast included in the morning was a nice variety of types of food. Concierge were friendly and helpful and willing to hold our luggage after we checked out so we could explore the city more before we left.

Overall I had a great experience at this hotel. The only real issue (which wasn't really an issue) is that my queen bed was really two twins pushed together. Otherwise the location is amazing, the staff were amazing, and the overall property is very well maintained. Great place to spend a couple nights in!

I absolutely loved my stay at Hotel Fron. The only reason I could not give it five stars has nothing to do with the hotel itself. The area has a lot of wonderful restaurants and shops, which stay open late. The bars begin playing very loud music at 10 pm and continue until 4 am every night except Monday nights. I was okay because I had a box fan white noise on my phone to help with the noise but somebody unaware and unprepared would have difficulty sleeping. Everything else about this hotel is fantastic - the location, the staff, the breakfast, the accommodations.

The location is great and the service is very good. Room is small but comfortable. Cleanliness was ok. They did not have any parking, but description had said there was limited parking. Finding parking nearby is very difficult. Above a bar that is very loud all night long till late in am. It sounded like I was in the bar due to poor insulation. Need to be very sound sleeper.
