Very nice old French hotel with tons of charm perfectly situated to walk around town. The host was charming and helpful. Will stay here next time we are traveling through!

This was a charming and clean property that is in progress on making updates. It was very clean, with a friendly staff. Some finishes were being updated (for example, a baseboard in the bathroom) but nothing that negatively impacted our stay. Good continental breakfast

Location of hotel is good for exploring Chalon. Hotel is comfortable but in many ways the decor & furniture are dated, but maybe you have to appreciate that the owners are trying to reflect the true age of the hotel. The owners were very pleasant & helpful.
Generally it felt that the building needed a good coat of paint inside & out to freshen things up.

We were only at Hotel Saint Jean one night but it was lovely. Although there were some improvements underway it was clean and nothing was in our way. The person who checked us in was very nice and helpful. The hotel was well located. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. We were able to get a 3 person room which is hard to find. Breakfast included some meats and cheeses, more than the common croissant and coffee.
