The hotel looked newly renovated, everything was very clean and comfortable.

Check In
1) They check in clerk was very friendly, however, the way the desk was set up, she was located behind a 3/4 high wall about 10 feet away from the counter being where she could be located, only seeing her eyes from there.
The check in was delayed. I was told there was a problem with the reservation but it was worked out. Total wait time was 20 minutes after standing in line for 10 minutes with 1 person ahead of me.
2) The room
It was clean and I enjoyed having a kitchenette with a real freezer with ice! I was cold in the middle of the night and the thermostat didn’t work but I hadn’t noticed the heater against the wall like they used to be.
The elevator broke right before I was to carry in my belongings!! I am just a girl in her 50’s. Ugh… Fortunately I was only on the 2nd floor.
b) The shower was approximately 75 degrees, however again, that’s because I, and probably most, didn’t know how the water faucet worked. I turn the handle all the way hot, then turn it down based on how hot it is but this faucet, it gets hot by twisting very little then gets colder the more you turn it.
3) Service called at 8:00am, when most might be awake already to tell me construction would begin working and not be alarmed with hammering and such. The phone however, was not beside the bed and I was still asleep, it was across the room. It seems as if they could have notified us that information upon check in.
4) The price was very reasonably priced for the rating it had at 4.5/5.

It would have been helpful to know that construction was going on. Very noisy and off putting to see dumpsters in the street with discarded furniture laying around the dumpster.

Everything was clean and the staff was extremely accommodating. They allow pets. The only reason I did not give 5 stars on comfort is due to the bed being too soft. I know this is not a problem for most but that is my only small problem. Candlewood Suites is awsome

It’s a fair deal for the price. It’s good for someone that wants to save money by not eating every meal out. It has declined somewhat in the attention to detail. If you can call getting a room with no recliner, or just a hard folding chair at the desk, a detail. I understand there are renovations happening, floor by floor so that may improve. I’ve been coming to the hotel for two years about four times a year and it used to be better. Still the best hotel in the immediate area for the dollar in my opinion.
The fact that they are pet friendly is a plus for me.

DO NOT STAY HERE! I reserved a ONE BEDROOM SUITE for me and my husband after driving 5+ hours with kids and a dog, to check into the property and be given a basic hotel room. Very OUTDATED and currently in the middle of remodeling so construction equipment filled parking lot. Had to park in Wallgreens across street. Literally the LOUDEST bed i have ever slept on. Remote batteries were dead and had to unplug the TV to turn it off. So had two options TV off, or on volume 50 on food network🙄. When asked for appropriate room, said there was nothing they could do and the manager Alfred NEVER CALLED OR REFUNDED THE DIFFERENCE! We stayed 2 nights in a basic hotel room and charged for one bedroom suite. Hotels.com gave me a credit which made situation better

Check in was awful. They didn’t have our reservation or the reservation for the woman in front of us. Only one person on staff and she was nice but In over her head with no backup. It actually took one hour and 15 minutes to get a room!! Although we had prepaid with proof, we had to pay again and now have to deal with getting a refund. Otherwise a good place to stay. Clean and comfortable.

Well, the hotel was lovely. The only bad thing was in the morning I had to take a shower before I could go to my doctors appointment and the shower was broken so the whole time I was trying to spray off the shower was spraying water directly in my face and I’m claustrophobic so I had to end my shower but I did let them know before I left that the showerhead was broken. That was really the only problem I had.

The room was a bit musty smelling. The desk chair had a huge piece of material missing making it look shabby and unkept. The nice staff took it away but could not find one to replace it. The mattress was lopsided. The people above us were thumping around. There was a great shower but things were so unkept I didn't feel compelled to have the coffee offered. It was unappealing.

They were nice enough to make sure a crib was in the room so I’ll give them that.

My husband and I couldn’t find any cups, glasses, or plates. Come to find out, the dishwasher was fully loaded with all of the items listed. Although the items had been cleaned, the dishwasher gad not been emptied. Am I to assume that is the newest customer that it was my responsibility to empty it? Also, there’s a very large (wide) empty space along one wall which could easily accommodate a couch or loveseat. Because there was none, you were forced to either use the chair at the desk, or sit on the edge of the bed; our room was a suite. Also, there was no TV channel list in the room. I went to the front desk and asked about this. They provided me with a print-out (apiece of paper) from a binder that has the channel listings. Why is this not in the room? There is a small coffee pot in the room with one regular and one decaf coffee filter pouch. Creamer and sugar were not in the room. You had to go down the hall to the common area to get them. Cost is high for the room. Therefore, I would expect these small and minor amenities actually in the room and not have to go in search of them down to the common area or to the front desk.

My biggest concern was the fact that so many dogs were aloud in the hotel. Barking throughout the night. Felt very uncomfortable knowing dogs may have stayed in my room the night before.

Great check in process, easy to find and close to a lot of things. Cleanliness was great even though it's a little bit of an older property it's still kept nice.

Front desk people were so nice and so helpful! Especially Victoria and Elaina. We had a great stay. Will come back again. Although the rug in the room needs to be ripped up and replaced.

Loved the staff, I had a cougher in the room next to me, was smart enough to not sit on the bed, and they switched my rooms, huff or puff about anything. Very friendly and remembered me from a previous stay. The owner does need to reinvest in their property, as there are things that need to be replaced or updated.
