I’m pleased I said here for 2 nights.
€25 fare from the airport. Friendly welcome by Aristea, the manageress. All the restaurants recommended were great, reasonably priced and full of locals.
Split level accommodation- comfortable bed up wooden stairs. Stripped wooden floors(same for the room above you).
Area for sitting & eating, cooking, fridge, sofa, balcony. Weak internet. Shower excellent.
Only 1 minute walk to the harbour. Plenty of activity there. Saturday night is busy with all the locals so a bit more street noise- everyone goes home after 12; no drunken larger louts.
As a single woman, I never felt unsafe around the hotel or harbour area. It does seem more grimy nearer the modern centre but better than home.
