The staff was very friendly and helpful. The dining area could have used another attendant. There was only one waitress to tend to everyone and breakfast was pretty busy. I found the beds to be pretty comfortable.

Nicely designed lobby; comfortable feel. Free breakfast not included, but the prices for the sit down breakfast were very reasonable with a decent selection and fast service. Low noise in room--HVAC system quiet. Friendly staff. Good stay.

We just a one night stay, we attended a show at DPAC and chose to get a room relatively closeby. The amenities we did use, fitness room and pool, were decent. The digital key system was down for access to the room so check-in was more difficult than it could have been. It was not an issue that affected the enjoyment of our stay.

I booked a two bed hotel room for two people. They changed it to a one bed room and told me there was nothing I could do about it. The man I spoke to at the front desk Friday night at 7pm was very rude and said they were sold out. So then only one person stayed in the room, displaying the other. The air conditioning in the room I didn’t want but had to stay in, did not work. So two nights in a hot room I wasn’t supposed to have was not cool… pun intended. I called several times throughout the night trying to tell someone about the air. No one answered. Checking out Sunday, the other front desk attendant told us there were plenty of rooms we could have switched to.

This hotel is clean, but very dated. From carpets that feel like they have been cleaned so many times that the carpet fibers are coated in plastic to the mattress with uneven support, serious upgrades are warranted. In addition the walls provide a minimal barrier to sound.

Totally fine spot to stay, convenient. Furniture is a bit dated, not a bit issue.. however the beds were squeaky. That should be addressed. A few things to take care of but overall was fine.

I have been staying at this hotel (medical appointments) for several years. The location is great for walking, a true luxury in a city with a high crime rate. We enjoy being able to 'walk the wall' for short walks (sandy trail that circles Duke's East Campus), and use the shaded sidewalks that lead to Duke's Main Campus for longer walks. There are decent restaurants (Elmo's for breakfast) within a five-minute walk. The hotel staff is always helpful, friendly, and professional. The hotel itself is in good condition. On the negative side, the hotel breakfast offerings seem to be a packaged/preprepared variety (go to Elmo's). The bathroom doors are an exterior-mounted slider variety with a one-inch gap when closed. Anything going on in the bathroom can be heard in the room. On my last visit we stayed several days for a procedure. I had a horrible time getting my room serviced despite requesting at the desk and over the phone. This trip we had a small dog (or two) in the room next to us that had frequent and lengthy yapping fits. The night manager tried to refund what we paid for the room but could not because I paid through Expedia. I was told we would get extra Hilton Points, but that has not happened yet. I hope this hotel can return to its pre-COVID level of service because the location is perfect. I will probably look for another hotel next month on my next trip to avoid the stress of another bad stay.

Check-in was easy. Lots of details neglected and lack of initiative to resolve. Only decaf pods in room. No TV guide in room; guide on TV didn't match actual channels; hard to locate a specific channel. Cold water faucet spins on stem. HVAC on cool while cold outside; took me awhile to figure out. They ran out of bar soaps and response indicated that they weren't accelerating a delivery [or going a block away and buying at a supermarket]. All near free and would result in better customer satisfaction.
