I really enjoyed my stay. It was conveniently located near great restaurants and bars and the staff was very friendly

Jessy/Yessy at the front desk was AMAZING and was so helpful during our trip.

arrived after midnight, had no problem checking in. had a late flight back and was able to get a late check out even though it was just one hour.
near times square but not in the middle of all the busy area. it has some amazing restaurants near by.
hotel staff amazing. showers could use an upgrade and the curtain blinds are a bit smaller than the windows and when the sun comes out the light gets in.
other than that would definitely go back and recommend.

This hotel was fine for a couple nights away. It was large for a NYC hotel and the room had a microwave and fridge, which was nice. The shower didnt get super hot and the beds were just alright. The TV didnt have many working channels either. Overall, decent and convenient for the price.

My room looked out on 9th street and the window actually opened a little. Great location. And if you like a ferocious shower, this qualifies.
2.0
The room had no hot water and the lights would randomly come on.
I spoke to the front desk about the water issue and was told, "No one else reported this so you probably didn't use it correctly".
I 100% used it correctly, the water simply approached around room temperature with the dial turned ALLLL the way as far as it could go.
And just to verify I turned it allll the way the other way and was given freezing water.
There are just far better experiences in this price range, I would not recommend staying here in 2024.

Great Location!!!! Spacious room, friendly staff, A little outdated but worth it! Would stay there again :) do not miss the Rooftop!!!!!!!!!!

SMALL!!!! Rooms are so small! We couldn’t even move around in the room comfortably. No table or chair in the room. No where to sit after hitting the city. Beds are really low to the floor. The lighting sucks, shower had water all over the place. Don’t go looking for a view because it’s not. Overall this was really bad. The only good thing was the cleaning lady. She was really nice and cleaned the room daily. Also I will take forever for you to get your deposit back. I will NEVER stay here again

Nice hotel, more of a boutique hotel. Small lobby. Friendly staff. Floor hallways need to be redecorated, looks dull, but clean. Rooms are clean. Large shower. Very nice rooftop patio, great views. Parking around the corner, not affiliated with hotel. Many food options in area. 10 min walk to Times Sq. Will stay again.

Very quick stay. I had to spend the night near times square & found this convenient hotel. I particularly chose it for location & price.

Frequent traveler to NYC, first time at the Truss. Incredibly convenient location. Simple but attractive hotel. Front desk very, very friendly and helpful. Room was minimalist, clean, attractive. Nicely appointed bathroom. I set off the smoke alarm in the morning by taking a very long, hot shower with the bathroom door closed, and when I opened it the steam billowed out into the room and set off the smoke alarm. If there is ever a fire, note the smoke alarm will let you know loudly and long. The front desk called immediately. I explained my error and they were gracious and helpful. Two staff arrived almost immediately after the phone call and remedied the problem swiftly. I am very happy with my stay and will definitely choose to stay here again and again.

Very nice place, and incredibly convenient to Broadway and mass transit. I used to live in NYC, and I’m amazed by the positive changes in the neighborhood, with cute, quirky restaurants all around. My only complaint is that the USB charging ports did not work, and the light provided in the room is pretty dim, but I would definitely stay again.

Great find in the neighborhood. Room was spacious and modern. Location is great on 9th Ave away from the busy 8th Ave. Walkable to most places. Would stay again on a future trip

Lobby is extremely small and crowded at times. Seemed to be a lot of noise at the back of the bin the morning.

The hotel was in a great location, in walking distance to so many places and things including the Javits Center. As far as cleanliness it was not, the curtain had blood stains or something on it which they could have at the least replaced or cleaned! I kept them closed to keep from seeing that. Also, the shower is very outdated with the tile & water ran over onto the floor when you showered. The bottom corner of the shower also had mildew, overall I would not stay there again as someone who is creeped out by unclean spaces.

Hotel was comfortable but could do with some updating especially the bathroom. Staff were pleasant when approached. Good location and central so walkable to most attractions. Subway station was close by
5.0
Great room, great location to the subway. There was no restaurant or bar, so that was disappointing.

Nice hotel. Close to Times Square and pretty much everything. It wasn’t overly expensive. We will definitely stay there again.

Hotel appears to be highrise with rooms above the next building. Actually, the hotel part is only 1-4th floors. Hotel put me in a handicapped accessible room without telling me and not the style of room I reserved. The room didn't have a coffee maker and the lighting was very poor. Even the least expensive chains have some form of coffee maker and coffee in the rooms. Any saving in price were overcome by the inconvenience and lack of amenities at this hotel. Go elsewhere my friends.

Great stay. We wanted to bring our German exchange student to NYC for a weekend. Diana checked us in quickly and efficiently. She was friendly. We needed ice and she had someone bring the ice right up to our room. We actually booked 2 rooms because we were a group of 5ppl. The king room and the double room seemed to be exactly the same size and layout. HVAC worked well. The bathroom was nice and the water pressure was amazing! It’s a pretty basic hotel- they don’t have a lot of amenities. No restaurant or bar but there’s a restaurant within the building. There’s an excellent deli across the street. The rooftop terrace is great! We would definitely stay here again.

I was pleased with my stay at the Truss Hotel. My brother and I stayed here for 3 nights 2/29-3/4. It was about a 10-minute walk to the hotel from Moynihan, and about a 20-minute walk to Times Square, so my brother and I both thought it was pretty conveniently located to what we wanted to see when considering the price. Bathroom was clean, but could have used a good scrubbing along the edge of the floor where it meets the walls Shower water pressure was excellent!
The staff, for the most part, was friendly. The front desk especially so. Very welcoming and accommodating. I did have a slight issue with room service. On our 2nd day, we were a bit late in getting ready for the day, and the room service lady knocked on our door at around 10:30am. I answered, and she asked if we would like room service that day. I said yes, and said it would be a little while longer until we were ready to leave. She asked how long. I politely said we would definitely be out of the room by noon. She muttered “Oh, Jesus” and then said “I guess I’ll have to come back down then.” I’ve worked in a customer-facing role before and I totally get that customers can be annoying. However, I would probably wait until AFTER I’m away from said customer to complain and mutter things under my breath. I was taken aback a bit by that, but I remained polite and thanked her as she left.
Other than that, our stay was problem-free and would recommend this place as an affordable hotel in NYC.

Basic hotel with very clean and well equipped room. Nice corner room with 2 windows. Room was serviced promptly each day. Helpful and friendly staff at reception. Very reasonably priced.

We came to NYC for a long weekend with our teen daughter. This hotel had a great, central midtown location that was just far enough away from the house of Times Square. The staff could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. We were able to store our bags after an early checkout u til the time we needed to head to the airport.
Our room was very spacious and clean, and the availability of 2 queen beds was a bonus. There were just a couple negatives with our room, though. We had a hard time getting consistent hot water in the shower, and the lighting in the room was very minimal. It felt very dark, even with all the available lights on. The tv only had a few channels that worked, and I found it odd that we couldn’t even get the local NBC channel. But these are just minimal concerns. It was still a great stay that worked well for our weekend plans.

Extremely worn hotel, very noicey from traffic, thin walls and ventilation, bad smell in corridors
Best part is the rooftop terrace, but only open between 8-12 am

Overall, the hotel is pretty worn and shabby. The grout in the shower was covered in black mold. The mattresses are old, saggy, hard, and lumpy. The hallways always smell like food. Room a decent size for NYC. Having a minifridge and microwave is a plus.

The hotel was located conviently to where I needed to be. However, the bed when i sat on it sounded like it was going to fall down. Not a big deal, but to have no hot water for a shower was not acceptable, and seeing a large amount of mold starting to grow on the ceiling and walls is disturbing. The staff was very nice and accomodating, but honestly I wont be staying there again or reccomending it to anyone.

I liked the trim size and the woman at the front desk was friendly, unfortunately they charged me a $250 fee for smoking in their hotel when I was not. The hotel smells like smoke in the hallways. They didn’t notify me that “smoke was smelled” they just took my money. I would never stay here again

Clean rooms and common areas. Rooftop deck was great but too cold to use in February. Great walkability to train station, Times Square, theatre District. We had a nice corner room with 2 windows. Hallways smelled of weed regularly, but so djd most of tne streets in NYC!

Great place to stay in general. Only negative was the house music coming from an private apartment next door qlong with the smell of cigarette smoke

Great stay and great staffs

The service provided was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately when we arrived the temperature in our room was 74 degrees. We lowered it, but it never quite cooled down. By the next morning we asked for assistance and they ended up swapping the AC unit out. Other than the AC, it was a great visit overall.

Had a great stay, enjoyed the amount of space we had, the fridge and microwave were a plus. Staff were super friendly and responsive. Really wouldn’t change much. Wish there was a few drawers, I know random but that’s just personal preference for when you’re staying somewhere for a week at a time. Overall I would stay here again!

Everything in the hotel was good and the rooftop was also nice. But the only problem was that when I took a shower some of the water comes out of it and got the floor wet because half glass and half curtain but everything else was great.

Everything was excelent. Very comfortable room with all equipment. Clean and light room. Excelent location near by public transport and all what we could see. Kind staff. Lagguage storage before and After check in/off.

The smell of the room was slightly funny but it was very clean besides that. The room I booked was the perfect size for one person and there weren’t any drawers but there was a closet with shelves and hanging space. There’s also a spacious rooftop area with a pretty decent view. I would definitely recommend it and stay there again.

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I would love to visit again.
