Stayed at this location for one night, having previously stayed at a My Place property in Michigan. Our usual stay in Grand Forks is the Staybridge, but with their room prices jacked to over $300 (possibly due to a concert) we selected the hotel (My Place) right next door which cost less than $200. We did not notice any smoking smells as other reviewers mentioned. In fact, the hotel smelled clean when we walked in as did our room. The employee checking us in was friendly and efficient. We were assigned room 107 which is right by the lobby and elevator. Yes, there was some noise throughout the early evening and morning aroubd 8 am, but the fan in the room helped to dampen the voices. Could have easily asked for a room re-assignment but we were not bothered. Bedroom and bathroom were clean, pillow and beds comfortable. If you typically stay at the Staybridge or tje Cmon Inn, this property is a good alternative at a decent peice. It is an older property and priced accordingly (IMO) so if you’re expecting room service, same day cleaning, or valet parking, go elsewhere. If needed to give one suggestion, I'd recommend management add outlets or charging stations suitable for USB cords to keep up with modern times. We'd stay here again without hesitation.

Overall the stay was fine. Room was clean, beds and pillows were comfortable. I would stay there again….however there was no fresh coffee our first morning there. There was lukewarm coffee left over from the night before….we checked an hour later and they was still no coffee. I told the guy behind the desk and he seemed less than pleased to deal with it…since it required him to stop watching the movie on his phone. The garbage can outside the front door was overflowing in the morning and still not emptied when we came back to the hotel later that evening. There is a kitchenette in the room, but no dishes or cookware…maybe you can get them from the front desk….but I didn’t see anything indicating that was an option…yet they gave us a washcloth and towel to wash dishes…but no dish soap. Again…the beds were comfortable and the room was clean….that is the most important thing.

Meant for extended stays…mini kitchen…fill size refrigerator, 2 burner cook top, microwave, sink. Bathroom cabinet storage. Modern and clean.

We like staying at My Place. It has always been clean and comfortable. This last time was not as great. Shower wouldn’t drain, toilet was basically out of order as it wouldn’t/couldn’t flush, making bathroom use a bit awkward. There was also a mixup when checking in. I had reserved a 2 queen bed room. The first room we got only had 1 bed and the attendant at the counter kinda gave me a dirty look, like I was trying to get away with something. We will stay again, but a refund for this stay would sure be nice.

Liked location. Employee was not helpful, recliner in the room was in poor shape, toilet plugged and help wasn't available...called and asked for a plunger and never delivered. Nobody was ever at the front desk...had to call for assistance, and then they would come out of the office grumbling. Never stay there again.

The staff was uninformed and unaccomodating. 2 guests were at the front desk while we were there referred to my family and me as sniggers and the reception said nothing to them. Worst experience and over priced stay ever. The reception told me she has to put an indefinite hold on my card. First I am hearing this nonsense.

It was fine. I didn’t realize there wasn’t a desk so work was uncomfortable. Chair in the room had cracked upholstery. Check in person was kind, but system wanted me to pay a $95 balance to check in despite showing receipt I had paid. They did charge my card just to get through the system and now I’ll wait to see if the void of that charge goes through as well.

I liked that it was close to our concert! Our room smelled like a farm so unfortunately we didn’t stay their but Expedia refunded me! I felt like staff were trying to ignore my calls kept saying can I put you on hold! I went down to front desk in person! I will never stay their again!

The shower drain was clogged so the tub filled up during the showers. Also, the light cover in the bathroom dropped off the ceiling in the middle of the night! The staff are very nice, we will go back in the future.

A budget friendly hotel for a quick overnight stay. I had not stayed at this chain before. It would be perfect for families looking to cook or longer stays. The linens and bedding was just ok, but a full kitchen was great! The front desk staff was professional with excellent customer service- my teenager even commented! You don’t find that often, kudos to her!!

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at My Place. It was the perfect location to attend our event at The Alerus Centre. Our room was clean & quiet.

We were unsure of check-in time and we’re early. The first person we encountered was rude and short. When we came back around 3:45 to check in they told us it would be another hour and a half but we had to eat and go to the game. They figured it out but the first person who checked us in needs some customer service training.

Arrived to my room had a strong smell, found molded hot dog buns in the draw in the kitchen, used towels behind the bathroom door musky smell. Dry food on the chair and table. Plus a bad smell coming from the ac/heater unit

At check in the staff gave us a room to someone elses room. When we entered the room, they were in there and very clearly the room occupied. We went back to get a new room and it took a long time to correct the mistake. Once to our new room, the room was clean but could use updating. Beds were not very comfortable either. Overall not a good experience.

Check in took about 20 minutes as the person checking us in needed to call her boss for assistance. (We prepaid.) Whoke checking in several other guests came down with issues. Our room was smoky (non smoking request) and not cleaned totally…hair left in the bathroom shower. Was not cleaned at all the second night we were there. Lobby bathroom also was dirty and unclean. I use My Place a lot when traveling but won’t use this location again,

Close proximity to the Alerus center. Our room did have a smell like musky smell. Our friends were in another room and had no odor.

When I booked my rooms I booked 5 rooms one for myself and 4 other rooms for friends .. I selected the pay at property option since we were all responsible for our own rooms and when we arrived all the rooms were booked to my credit card . All but one cause after the 4th room was charged my card started to decline . When I asked hotel why they did that I was told the manager did it . I find this to be fraudulent and unauthorized charges since I selected the pay at property option . I could see my card being charged had someone not showed or checked into those rooms but they were all used and checked into ..this caused my card to be flagged at my bank and un-usable for the next two days since it was a holiday weekend. I will not book MyPlace again
