Was charged the same price for a king room with a jetted tub and a huge tv as a king room with a tint tv and shower only. Didn't serm right. And nothing worked correctly in the room with smaller tv.

beautiful flowers in the garden, clean quiet rooms. great bath tub. simple but good breakfast. it was the best motel we've been at for that price. a great value.

I booked a room to stay for my wife’s birthday. When we got into our room, there was a bunch of white stuff all over the bed. I’m not sure how housekeeping didn’t see it when they made the beds, or maybe they didn’t launder the bedding. When I asked the front desk lady for a refund she was extremely rude and acted like I was the problem. I could see her bad mouthing me to the other gal in the office while I was leaving. I would never stay at the surf motel again, if I could’ve given 0 stars I would have.

Good choice for a short stay. We had booked 3 rooms but one was smelling smokey so we got it exchanged without problems. Only one room was eligible to have a pet. That was not clear when we booked, and also not explained to us. Rooms were quiet but were not serviced between days. Showers were great. Standard cold breakfast, no eggs.

This property is location in a convenient, walking distance to shopping and food option. Its is quite and easy to find. Staff are very good and polite. Breakfast room is big comparing others.

Poor Excuse for a Breakfast. Green banana's, cold cereal, instant oatmeal, a few packaged pastries, juice and coffee. First room had not been cleaned. Some rooms were not available because they were being treated for fleas. The place really needs to be remodeled and cleaned up.

The price was right for the area and the photos appeared that they had done some good renovations. Check in was pleasant and quick, as was checkout. The place was lipstick on a pig. The carpets were tattered and damaged. The bathroom had been renovated beautifully and I was very excited to see the jetted tub - until I used it and had to shower again from all of the scum that came out of the jets. There is a particular way to clean jetted tubs and they clearly do not know how. I was completely grossed out. The bed was so-so on comfort and I could feel the springs. They seem to be trying to improve the place but more effort needs to happen with cleaning and carpets.

The owner/ manager over charged our account by over two thousand dollars. He was rude to me n my daughter who made the first reservation. I declared my dogs n rented a dog room. He said I could not have house keepers come in the room for the week I was there. Upon checking out he said that there was dog hair on the carpet n I would be charged an additional $200 for house keepers. After I left California n was in Montana he continued to say I had made future reservations n he was going to charge me for not keeping the reservation. I did not make any further reservations as I permanently live now in Mt. Even if I did ever return to Ca I would NEVER stay at the surf Motel in Fort Bragg Ca!!

Surf Motel is an old school building, but with a new look & feel. The rooms are modernized, loaded with amenities. In the center, where most such motels just have ashpalt paving, they've built a beautiful garden with a fountain & gazebo. I couldn't have been more pleased.

Cute little place and very quiet. Easy to get in and out of because there is a traffic light there. Bed was comfortable. We'd stay again if we're in the area again.

Ugh, the building is getting old and the gardens? Just a bunch of different plants growing wild and rather unkempt every 10 feet or so. The main "garden" is out front by the office, and might have once held some pretty greenery and flowers, but it is obvious no one is keeping them up anymore. The carpeting inside is dirty & spotted with stains, the door to the fridge compartment was shredded at the bottom. The newer shower section is still nice, but starting to rust. The heat lamp in that section is nice. Comfortable bed.

I booked a king bed thru Hotels.com but when we got there it was 2 doubles. I was sold they were sold out and nothing they could do about it. This was a birthday surprise. I would have preferred the room I paid for…
