We spent one night at the Yavapai Lodge Grand Canyon. Our room was very spacious, clean, and quiet. We arrived late and had a good pizza at the restaurant on-site. We didn't realize there was a separate tavern or we probably would have eaten there rather than ordering from the kiosk at the entry to the dining area. We checked out very early because we had an early-morning excursion, so we weren't there for very long. The rooms are expensive, but you're paying for proximity to the Grand Canyon.

Convenient to visiting inside the Grand Canyon and it's not so busy or crowded like at the valley.

The hotel staff was friendly. The room was nice with a great location. Hotel dining hall was reasonably priced for large servings of good food.

Great stay in the National Park. Several buildings with basic but very comfortable rooms and plenty of parking. Food available in the dining hall - good solid food that you want after spending the day hiking. Do make sure you get outside in the hours of darkness - the dark park gives an amazing view of the stars at night.

Satisfied!

We stayed at the lodge last weekend. The place is older/dated but clean and convenient to the canyon. It had everything we needed for a night.

We loved our cabin! Very comfortable and quiet

My rooms meet my expectations and it’s so closed to the Grand Canyon . The lodge extends their cafeteria hours to accommodate this long weekend that helps a lot since we arrived here a bit late passed the dinner hour! Many thanks to their hospitality and consideration!

This is a lovely place to stay. The location is fantastic as it is very close to the trails. The room was very clean and spacious. The check in and out process was very easy and the staff were very helpful. Lots of parking which enabled us to drive around to various viewing points and staying the night allowed us to catch the sunrise. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Convenient location, clean rooms, but terrible service. Met maybe one nice worker during our stay. I understand they deal with so many types of people during the year with it being the Grand Canyon. Tavern food is overpriced and the workers are rude.

Once I got settled into my room and went to turn on the television, there was no reception. After I finally got a hold of somebody at the front desk I was told that they are DIRECTV has been out for several weeks. He said he would send somebody to my room in the next 10 minutes, I waited for half an hour nobody ever showed up. There was Wi-Fi in the rooms so the lobby at the hotel was filled with people on their laptops and phones trying to communicate. The front desk was very busy at all times so accessing folks to get questions answered was quite difficult. I checked out after my first night.

The accommodation was acceptable. The restaurants were miserable.

Just enough to be comfortable and environmentally conservative. Beds were very comfortable!

It's location is good, and the room conditions are so so,.
The worse of the lodge is the room has no WiFi.

There was a brown colored water running in the shower. My husband got soaking wet with it and it was so disgusting. We immediately called the front desk and they said they'll send someone to check. We were waiting for more than an hour and No one came. We couldn't take a shower in the room after all day of hiking. Is it too much to expect a normal shower in $275 worth room per night? Worst stay ever.

Very much enjoyed staying at the Lodge. It was great to be so close to all that the South Rim area has to offer.

Clean and newly renovated. These 50+ year old rooms have been well maintained and recently updated. The bathroom is small as was the custom back then.

We had a pleasant stay. We had a side walk with a roof. The only issue is the bathroom lighting was awful, especially for putting on make up. The toilets were very low.
4.0
Yavapai west units are a little dated but spacious and comfortable. We loved the quiet setting in the woods but close to the lodge and market.
3.0
Beds were old and not comfortable. Walls were quite thin, no sound insulation. Location was great. Check-in was slow, but to be expected with the large number of tourists asking questions.

Despite noticing a musty type odor in our room upon arrival, the room appeared clean and was comfortable and adequately quiet. It is an older facility, so this was not a surprise. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The location is fabulous, with easy access to the shuttle and very close to the Visitor’s Center. It is also close to dining options and a market. We would not hesitate to stay here again for all of those features.

Staff were all fantastic, especially the food servers at the tavern. They were friendly, efficient and courteous. The thermostat in our room in the West wing seemed to have a mind of its own. The temp was never well regulated. The bathroom tiles were broken; no vanity to put things. Comfy bed, but not enough room on the side toward the wall — room more suited to one bed. Food at tavern was excellent. We enjoyed our stay at the park, taking advantage of the shuttle service. Most of of the shuttle drivers were great.

The stay in Yavapai lodge was excellent.
The room was clean, we had great view on the wood, and room had a thermostat so we made it warm in no time.
Location is excellent near the restaurant, and the market, and the bus stop.
The only disappointment was that the room didn’t have a microwave, that would be very helpful, but we were told that they don’t have enough electric power to run microwaves. I can understand that.
I would absolutely recommend Yavapai lodge to my family and friends.

Great location in Grand Canyon Village. Clean room.

Not a fancy resort. It’s a nice, clean, comfortable room in a spectacular location. I’ve seen the Grand Canyon called a once in a lifetime place to visit but that’s not nearly enough.
2.0
Overall the room was dated, and the area outside the room door needed cleaning. The was only grab and go dining at Yavapai Lodge so we booked the Arizona Grill (a 5 min drive), and that was excellent. Breakfast was grab and go at Yavapai Lodge and the service was appalling. Given the cost of the accommodation, we were disappointed at the standard provided.

This hotel is in a very beautiful area, full of trees! The staff was pleasant and helpful. There is a grocery store for necessities on-site, and several places to eat. However, the main restaurant was closed for refurbishing, and the other eateries had very limited menus. We had a wonderful stay though.

We loved the location of Yavapai Lodge and it truly made out Grand Canyon experience that much better getting to stay in the park. My only complaint is a majority of the food services were shut down during our visit with a very very limited menu at the tavern available. I would highly recommend staying here!

Room/bathroom was clean. It’s a park lodge so things were a bit rustic

Location in Grand Canyon Park and proximity to shuttle and services is the highlight.

This has to be one of the best locations we’ve ever stayed in. The site blends well with the environment, which although a bit dated is fine.
We could kinda forgive the lack of WiFi in the rooms. And the fact the free bus system is poorly administrated….. After a beautiful sunset you wait a small while for the bus only to find you’re then kicked off it to wait for another one at the ‘village transfer station’ …. Everyone was freezing. They could run a few direct buses to village centre. They don’t.
The biggest criticism is for very unhappy staff. Bordering on rude. Really unpleasant at times. Starbucks staff are so complacent that they would count out the days tips whilst customers waited to be served. So odd. Pay them more or let them go. No one comes on vacation to be treated so badly.

This location and hotel were amazing! Staying in the national park was fun. And they themed the room wonderfully! I would highly recommend this hotel!

The room was great. Much of the Yavapai Lodge service area (restaurant, etc.) was being remodeled which hampered our experience (April 2024)

I realize the accommodations are in the picturesque Grand Canyon but there are almost as many flying insects inside the room as there are out in nature. The rooms don’t seem to be renovated since maybe the 90s. For the price, it was a let down but the basic rooms get sold out so they can charge fees as if they were a Holiday Inn or Hampton Inn. Bottom line is, it was either this or full on camping experience. Adjust your expectations accordingly so you aren’t disappointed.
Expect low water pressure showers to relax and clean off the outdoors off you after a long day of hiking or excursion. During downtime, if you need wifi (cell signal is weak), you will need to walk a bit over a quarter mile to the lobby, pack a flashlight you venture out at night (no street lights or parking lot lights). If you park at your accommodations after sunset, DO NOT MOVE your vehicle because the parking lot fills up! On our third night, we left the area to have dinner and returned at 8:30 PM—having to end up parking at the lodge lobby lot and trekking back using cell phone flashlights (better than nothing).
During hikes, on some days, you may encounter elk and deer, so thats pretty cool. We saw an Elk right outside our building front door yesterday morning.
Service personnel are really well natured and do their best to assist with simple requests.

Overall, a good place to stay. Within walking distance to the Grand Canyon rim. Simple, clean, affordable. Dining options limited, but I think that was due to some renovations which caused a shift in the options available.

What a crock! No internet, hot water, decent mattress, cesspool smell! They never heard of fiber optic or satellite? No hot water, shiver in shower or use camping dry shampoo, wipes, etc. Deformed mattress! Smells horrible in the room! $200/nite, in Grand Canyon! Disgraceful!

Good location near bus stop, plenty of parking other facilities nearby walking distance.
