Great location about a five minute walk down quiet beach road to the beach and the lighthouse. Also the lighthouse shopping plaza nearby was a great source of excellent food and ice cream! Comfortable room with a great staff! Everyone was friendly, welcoming and helpful. We especially appreciated the availability of the outdoor shower to clean off from the beach before coming inside. In addition, our gracious hosts allowed us to leave our car parked there after checkout so we could enjoy one last visit to the beach. Also, they allowed us to use their cart and chairs and afterwards use the outdoor shower, all after checkout! We will be back for sure!

We stayed in the Seashell room at Tarpon Tale Inn and will absolutely be back. Joe greeted us on arrival and walked us through all the amenities available to guests — beach towels, chairs, an umbrella, even a beach cart — which made packing so much easier. Since we drove to Sanibel, it was a relief not to have to cram all that gear into the car.
The Seashell room itself is cute and just the right size: a queen bed, a small comfy chair with a coffee table, and a little dining table, plus a mini fridge/freezer and microwave. There's also a nice patio out front (bring bug spray — Sanibel bugs are no joke!).
The location is a huge plus. It's just a few minutes' walk to the beach, so we skipped the hassle and expense of the island's limited beach parking entirely — we loaded up the provided beach cart and walked right down. A handful of shops (gifts, ice cream, restaurants) are within easy reach too.
All in all, I highly recommend Tarpon Tale Inn. It's a small, family-run inn on Sanibel that gives you nearly everything you need for an easy, relaxing beach trip.
