Truly an incredible property with a great attached restaurant serving the best included breakfast I’ve ever had. Fabulous pool and lounge areas, beautiful gardens and they even have chickens and honey bees!

I'm so glad we stayed at this property. We loved our King bed Room, it was perfect for our 3 nights at Bacalar. We enjoyed walking everywhere for our activities. Its a few step close to many good restaurants and bars. Just street crossing in front of Bacalar Lagoon. Don't miss the delicious breakfast that they offer every morning. Loved that breakfast is available until 11:30am. Very friendly staff!

Overall, I liked this small hotel; it has the feel of a "hip hotel." The big selling point of this hotel are the green pools with the large one big enough to swim laps. There is also a fun high diving platform. Other positives are the nicely designed and decorated common spaces with several options on places to relax, work and eat. In addition, staff were professional, helpful and nice; the breakfast was good with several options; and it was very clean. However, there is one big negative with the cramped room being tiny with a loft bed that is reached by an awkward, steep (dangerous) staircase. The room is so tiny that it's difficult to open a large suitcase and there is no comfortable place to sit except the loft bed. Now there are comfortable places to sit elsewhere in the property. I think there are 8/9 small rooms with loft beds and a few more larger rooms with normal beds at the back of the property. Another negative is the constant horrible house music in the hotel. Finally, a word of warning: they've started construction on an addition to the property, which is inches away from the loft rooms (the rooms in the back are quiet).

Upon arrival I was given my room. When settling in I noticed the air conditioner was not working properly. I informed the front office and they said they would have it fixed. After a night out we returned to a boiling hot room and no personnel to contact. I slept outside on the hammock due to the unbearable heat. The following day I was moved to another room but was told I would have move AGAIN due to having guests arriving. It didn’t make sense since the rooms were exactly the same. Steph or “Marianna” she gave me a different name than what other employees refer to her was extremely rude, condescending and unprofessional. She was hesitant to compensate, being extremely rude implying that Expedia would not be compensating as if the AC not working was Expedias fault. Horrible experience, every single day was an inconvenience, I felt pressure every time I returned to the hotel. Not worth it, I will never again stay here. I would however, like to thank Maria at the front desk, the only person that was professional and empathetic of the horrible situation.

From the moment I walked through the door, I was struck by the lovely atmosphere of the place. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they went out of their way to make sure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. One of the things that impressed me most about this hotel was how safe and secure it felt. The staff were always present and vigilant, which gave me peace of mind during my stay. Additionally, the hotel was very clean and well-maintained, which was particularly important to me during these times. The location of the hotel couldn't have been better. It was situated in the heart of the city, which meant that I was within walking distance of all the main attractions and amenities. I also appreciated that the hotel was set back from the street, which gave it a peaceful and tranquil feel despite its central location. Finally, I have to mention the great atmosphere of the hotel. There was a warm and welcoming vibe throughout, which made me feel right at home. The decor was tasteful and stylish, and the communal areas were inviting and comfortable. Overall, I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. If you're looking for a lovely, safe, clean, well-located, and atmosphere-rich place to stay, then this is definitely the hotel for you

Beautiful hotel in the best area you can get in Bacalar. Near many restaurants and across from the lake. The property is beautiful, the swimming pool is amazing, and all the staff are outstanding. The restaurant that is on the property is excellent. Highly recommend this hotel and we will be back!

Everything was great for the most part. Everyone was super friendly, breakfast was good except for the coffee. I was served coffee that had sat in a pot on a hot burner for hours before it was served to me. It tasted bitter and old by the time the waitress emptied the remainder of the pot into my cup. The coffee may have been good if I was served a cup that was freshly brewed. There is no VIP upgrade and no bathroom door in the room that I had. The stairway in back is really dark at night could use some low ground lighting.

Tuvimos una pésima experiencia, la habitación nos la entregaron una hora y media después del horario establecido indicándonos que al día siguiente tendríamos que abandonar la habitación en el horario establecido. Por la noche la puerta de nuestro cuarto se bloqueó y no había nadie en recepción ni quien nos pudiera auxiliar por lo que tuvimos que ir a pasar la noche a otro hotel y pagar otra habitación sin tener nuestras pertenencias, al día siguiente al regresar al hotel no había manera de hablar con el gerente el cual se negó rotundamente a devolvernos el dinero de la noche pagada la cual no utilizamos.

Nice hotel, good breakfast, friendly staff etc. We had to climb some stairs in the room to get to the bed. Not an issue for us, but not ideal if you are elderly or can't climb stairs. We very much enjoyed our stay and would happily stay here again or recommend others to stay here.

The property is beautiful and the staff is overly friendly, we would stay again and again! They booked a private catamaran tour on the lake, SO GOOD and relaxing. Leo our captain was excellent!!!

Very lovely stay! The staff are all very friendly and warm - we loved this as a home base in Bacalar and also to hang out at during the day by the pool. Would love to go back and would recommend for anyone going to Bacalar. The drinks and the food are all great as well!

Came for a weekend getaway with the family (married couple with two dogs) and thoroughly enjoyed it. Grounds are very unique and beautiful (amazing for art & culture lovers - filled with one of a kind pieces, decor, natural materials, eco friendly, etc). Kind of feels like a very upscale B&B (incl made to order breakfast with fresh farm to table eggs!) And a plus was it's 100% dog friendly with no extra charge and they were able to run around off leash everywhere on the property and were very welcomed. Highly recommend and will certainly be back if we get the chance!

Great location, nice rooms but the service is very slow. Watch out!! On wednesday you'll not be able to rent boats, kayaks or whatever you want as they "close" the lagoon. You may only swim

The site is amazing and well placed. They have chickens, they make their own bread and tortillas every day. The staff is amazingly gentle, smiling and always there for you. The food is great and there is also a lot of very good restaurant near the hotel. If you want to relax Makaaba is the best ! I will go back and strongly recommend. Thanks to all the staff for your attention. Only thing that is missing is a little refrigerator in the rooms.

Property is really nice and location is perfect to restaurants , shops and water. Staff is horrible never greets you , never know what activities the hotel has until you walk-in and you don’t get invited. So not friendly.

I was excited to stay here & was blown away when I got there. I love the atmosphere and vibe of the hotel, it’s what made it so amazing. You felt like you were at home in a family style bed & breakfast. The property is gorgeous & we loved all the different pools & common areas to relax. I love the concepts of the rooms as well. The breakfast that’s included with your stay is so amazing, the best included breakfast I’ve ever had at any hotel. I would recommend anyone to stay here and I cannot wait to stay here again. The staff was so amazing & attentive, I’ve never felt so welcomed.

Amazing eco friendly concept. In the heart of Bacalar, very friendly staff, the cats were a plus :) We loved the minimalistic concept and how much they care for the environment. The food was also pretty tasty, I wish they had more vegetarian/vegan options though. The drinks were so refreshing. Overall a great stay. Will definitely book again on my next visit to Bacalar.
