Super easy check in and the place is lovely. I was upgraded to a lakefront room and the views are amazing. Everything worked out perfect.

In the morning I ordered food from the restaurant and the host took my order over the phone. She didn’t know the menu off hand and let me order hash browns, biscuits, and a mimosa when they didn’t have it at all. Well the biscuits was ready after my son ate all his food and my mimosa was ready after I ate all my food. The food had been sitting there for a while and was cold and the waffles were mushy. I walked over to the restaurant 4 times to pick my food after it wasn’t ready after 50 minutes. They gave me only 2 utensils for an order of 4 people. The manager refunded my back for the extra potatoes and waffles but she didn’t even apologized and was very awkward. We love coming to this hotel but never wanna eat at the restaurant because of bad service or poor quality of food.
The hotel also needs to upgrade the rooms and the exterior is about to fall apart.

This is the 3rd time I’ve stood here over the years. Easy access to everything and great coffee at the aroma. Family friendly and staff is helpful and wonderful. Walking distance to the village, close to Blue Jay and Skyforest. Bar and restaurant on site are convenient and relaxing.

We enjoyed our first stay at the resort. It was convenient to nearby places to visit. The staff was friendly and welcoming.

Location is excellent

The rooms are outdated; the views are oversold; the amenities, other than the pool and spa, are overrated. On the plus side, the food in the restaurant is above average, and MOST of the employees are quite nice. Calling a gas burner on stones a firepit (see pics) is a bit of a stretch, especially when one can see the REAL firepit in the beach clearing below the main hotel.
All that said, I must note that I am making these observations BEFORE accounting for the pricing. So let's get to it. When considering VALUE (i.e., what you pay versus the quality), this place gets one star. It's outdated and overpriced, but it positions itself as a four-star resort based SOLELY on its location. Although that's valuable, and you can walk to the Village just a couple blocks away, I'd venture that several dozen BNBs are available within walking distance of the Village that are much nicer.
Don't waste your money. However, if you don't care about money, the place is centrally located and has a certain charm. So did the hotel in the Shining, btw.
Did I mention the restaurant? The food is slightly above average. The prices for that food will give you an ulcer. And the New Year's Eve celebration is a joke. I've attended better high school homecoming dances, and that includes taking a break to hit a blunt to try to, uh, blunt the experience. The only saving grace was that many of the hotel staff did a mean rendition of "Rasputin."
Oh, and one more thing, not for the first front-desk person but for

The property is VERY dated and dark. The restaurant ran very late with reservations on the night of CHRISTMAS!! There was absolutely NO HOLIDAY MENU - very disappointing and the restaurant was out of everything. Obviously made NO plan for holiday accommodations. EXTREMELY offensive for the highest religious holiday of the entire year. Since this resort can not honor the Christian Holidays we will never stay here again. VERY offensive.

Property is in a beautiful setting and the lobby is stunning however… A pet friendly property spent 10 minutes on checking in telling us all the don’t for pets and threatening a 250.00 penalty for failure to comply. The only food offering in the “resort” is a single restaurant whose staff tries hard but the pricing, hours and options for cuisine definitely suggest they are a mountain resort willing to charge LA or Vegas prices without attempting to match either. We had a family above us both nights stomping on the floor till after 10pm and starting at 6am, the resort promised to visit said family while removing resort fees, they did neither. Some talented junior employees but overall management and policy suggests Holiday Inn and not a “Resort and Spa”.

This was my wife and my daughter’s first time spending Christmas away from the family. Usually we are at home we thought we would try something different this year. My wife loved the way they decorated the hotel with the Christmas tree and all the decorations. My wife and my daughter loved it made them feel like they were at home.

Beautifully decorated for Christmas and friendly staff. Room was spacious but sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable. You could feel the coils if the thin mattress . Not sure if a cot would have been better

The lake view.
Security gaurd came to our door and was very rude then accused us of smoking. That was not true and we were insulted. We spent the whole time without a heater in our room

This is a nice property and cozy. Staff was super friendly, especially at the front desk. We had a lake and pool view with balcony. We had Thanksgiving dinner but the table and seats vibrate in a certain area of the restaurant. Washer and Dryers are below this area, we were told by staff. However, the manager was nice and moved us to another table. Thanksgiving dinner was excellent. Conveniently located walking distance to the village with cute shops, grocery store, and great Waffle breakfast place next to the lake. We are definitely coming back. I would just say the rooms need a bit of an update with newer carpet, drapes, and closets but overall the room was clean and comfortable beds plua a small refrigerator. I liked the lobby decor and Christmas tree plus movie nights and the kids played ping pong downstairs.
