I had to cancel because I was in the hospital. They would not let me reschedule or receive credits. I will never book a hotel that won’t let me cancel again for emergencies.

Check in was quick and easy as was check out. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Private check in desk Francis, housekeeping the first few days. Im bad with names. Beach was closed 2 days due to rough conditions but very beautiful. Was great when the beach was open. No vendors but i miss having a fresh green coconut with rum on the beach. Food was on par. With exceptions that were better than expected. Don't order the prosciutto wrap. It's not prosciutto, more like ham steak. Very tough and very salty. Restaurants on the property; the international restaurant was very good. The seafood restaurant was very lacking. Mexican was in between. I did not get to experience the Italian restaurant as it was always booked. I had a reservation at Le Petite François. An exceptional french restaurant on the beach in Puerto plata. 'C'est magnifique!' A/C in the room was lacking from the heat of the day. However, just take a cold shower and cool off your body, the A/C does just fine. Room was very comfortable. Stocked mini bar. Overall, very good!

The beach and food (Buffet & Herman’s restaurant) were great. The room was always cleaned by noon. However, our room had no hot water (5 days cold showers). The room needed a paint job, lamp shades were overly dirty. There were numerous mosquitoes. The day it rained,the downspout was broken and water flowed onto our balcony. It was difficult to exchange dollars to pasos or change large bills. (We just wanted to tip our servers/waitresses/bartenders.) Overall we would rate it a 3/5.

We had a very nice time. Place was comfortable and I recommend the adults only swim up rooms for couples. They do need to repaint outside for it to look up to date.

Let’s start with I opted in for the swim pool. This is enabled us to receive drinks and food brought directly to us, even though there’s no room service. Also, being part of the select, you can go to the specialty restaurants without reservations. And two days out of the week we had dedicated specialty breakfast the only those with the select band could receive. And if you’re interested in going into town, we walked to and from nightly with no problems.

Select casa marina adults only area side of the hotel was nice, quiet and enjoyable. I had the swim up junios suite room is spacious and clean. Direct view to the pool area. Frances at the reception was very nice and recommended the upgrade to the swim up junior suite. Harold the bell man was also very nice. Please note , the hotel shares the property with the casa marina hotel , kids, family, locals . I saw many children in the beach in the buffet the other side is was super crowded, the night show was was super crowded, even the night club they share the same night club, also note the Buffet is for everyone. In order to enter and the exit the hotel you to have to pass the hotel. Friday to Sunday was extremely crowded you can tell by the amount of people in the beach with that being said, select casa marina Side of the hotel was not crowded. The infinity pool was a very nice touch and also the Jacuzzi.. the only thing that separated me from the other side of the hotel was the wristband that you were placed. The drinks were OK. At the select they consider top self liquor , Tanqueray, Stoli, vodka, and Jose Cuevo tequila. The food at the buffet was fine. For the price that I paid to stay at the select, you would think that you will have your own private Buffet for guest only. Also theme restaurants have to make reservations and seem to always be booked. At select they had a small snack menu also. The beach was small. nice The staff was very nice and accommodating.

Booked here on Expedia, they were no help in correcting issues during this stay. The property is actually quite nice, but management is less than customer focused. I experienced several issues during my stay and management was not responsive. The minibar in their top end room was limited to 1 beer per day per person. The food and alcohol quality was very poor. None of the pools, other than 1 hot tub, were heated. The room had 1 open electrical socket to plug in a cellphone or laptop. I am a heavy tipper and the service staff was excellent. But at $1,200 for 3 nights, I would expect better quality and responsiveness from management.

The Property itself was very nice. The food was horrible. If you venture out to find better food, you will be surrounded by very questionable prostitutes. Sosua is apparently known for sex tourism.

We stayed on the adults only side and had a swim up pool to our room. The view from the room was gorgeous, however being on the adult side meant “quiet time”. No music or even adult activities. The coffee shop and sports bar were closed for renovations. The food was very good from the restaurant and the buffet.

The resort was nice overall. The stab is friendly and speak some English keep in mind this is a Spanish-speaking country they mostly speak Spanish. The beach Was very beautiful and the resort looks just like the pictures. My only complaint is the food. They serve traditional Dominican dishes but the flavor was not so great. I even got diarrhea a little bit. For the price I really think this is a good choice for Sosua
