Sosua by the Sea

Location was great. service was very good. breakfast was adequate.

The room was a bit over priced. when we arrived we were given a room with a sea view as booked but the room was an absolute dump with a small sagging bed and broken furniture and no where to store clothing etc; if I’d have paid 700 for two weeks this may have been acceptable but for two thousand absolutely not. luckily they were accommodating and put us in a much better room however we had to choose between sea view and comfort. not a really big issue since we could enjoy sea view from anywhere on the property. There were lots of promises made on line that were not exactly true such as private beach. it’s not private it’s shared with the all inclusive next door and is accessible by the public. Again, not a deal breaker for us but but why say things that aren’t true.. The breakfast was very basic and preparation was hit and Miss but the service was good. Over all we had a great stay but I definitely think it was slightly over priced

Beautiful hotel. Beautiful sea views. very nice restaurant. Breakfast was good. Staff were extremely nice and helpful. Some English.

Hot tub water was not hot at all: it was just jetted, which was a great disappointment and frankly surprising as it was out by a pool. The shower had one of those half shower doors and this one doubled down on stupid by having a little low shelf in the back that funneled water right on the floor. Also, if you wanted an early morning shower you had no hot water.

The breakfast was buffet style, which was serve on the outdoor patio overlooking the ocean.

When I first arrived I noticed that the facility was old and looked very historic. It had rained earlier in the day and the water pooled around the entrance. The first room I was placed in was moldy but the bathroom was renovated. I brought it to the manager attention and he move me into a much better room with less mold. I didn't like that the hotel adult guest policy was unclear. The policy was not very clear compared to what Booking response was when I asked that question. Booking response was that the hotel was guest friendly. Adult guest are only allowed in the lobby and not the room unless a fee was paid. The hotel also charged a fee to use the security box. The wifi was free but the hotel had couple of power outages during my stay. Even though the hotel is old and needs some repairs the facility is clean and well kept. It has a great ocean view and the pool is clean.
