Super location, steps away from the main street in the Big Bear Village. Older property, with well-maintained rooms and new shower/bathroom. We had lots of space, a nice kitchen and a fun "mountain vibe" in the room. My teenagers loved the big space and ability to find a quiet corner.

It was horrible. The room had a terrible musty smell. The fireplace did not work. The office closed at 5:30 and they were not available except by text and if it was an emergency. The couch was very uncomfortable. The pictures made the place much better than it was. I had headaches and so did my wife. As soon as we got outside they would go away. It was very very disappointing. We left on Saturday at 3pm. We just couldn’t get comfortable.

It was a wonderful winter stay. The room was warm with the fire place going for me when I checked in. Clean sheets comfortable furniture and a well equipped kitchen. I couldn’t believe what a deal it was located right in the heart of the village.

It’s quite reasonably priced, the rooms are large, it has full kitchen, the rooms are kept spotlessly clean, there are a lot of thoughtful touches, its rules are reasonable and assume that you are an intelligent adult, it has a very accommodating dog policy, there are no hidden fees, and it’s right at ground zero for walking to restaurants and shops. If you are a couple who like to be able to stretch out with a separate bedroom or a small family that wants to save by cooking a few meals, this is the place for you.
Just a couple of things: (1) There is on-property space for only a single vehicle, and that parking can get a little tight (there is free public parking about 100 meters); (2) Unless you have a ground units, you’ll be walking up a flight of stairs; (3) Bring some basic spices & oil\butter; (4) This isn’t a cute cabin tucked away in a forest; it’s an old school in-town motel that was probably a small apartment building on a very popular street; (5) The heater is strong and efficient but during August you’ll need that big fan they give you; (6) If you are a delicate sleeper, you’ll need to use that fan to create some white noise, and (7) There is no daily housekeeping, though the office is right downstairs for swapping out towels & linens (the cleaning crew that comes in after you depart do a great job, so tip generously).
We’d come back here in a heartbeat. Wonderful place to use for a base for skiing or other exploration in this area!

Excellent location near restaurants and other shops. Easy access and parking; short drive to snow summit.
Cleanliness was questionable.

Overall this was a great lodge for our trip to Big Bear Lake. The staff was very friendly. A bit less accessible than some other places. Text messages are the only contact after 6pm and only for emergencies after 9pm.
Our fireplace did not work well on our first day and had stopped completely when we tried again on the second night. Being that it was after 9pm this didn't seem like an emergency so there was no way to address it.
We had the Brown Bear room which is quite spacious and has a full kitchen. No dishwasher and no rack to place hand washed dishes but that is just a minor inconvenience. The kitchen has all the cooking utensils you need, as well as coffee and filters.
The room did get pretty cold at times so you have to adjust the thermostat a bit for consistency. There is a warning about turning it too high because it takes a long time to cool the room off, so maybe we were just playing it a little too safe.
The Brown Bear room overlooks a major street in The Village. It is extremely convenient for walking around when you leave the lodge, but it can get quite noisy. I had to tend to some business calls while our baby slept in the main bedroom so I had to compete with noise coming up from the street. There is a great gelato shop downstairs that people seem to congregate in front of. So if you need a quiet room, I would suggest inquiring about the rooms facing the rear of the building instead.
Overall, I would definitely consider staying here again in the future.

Not clean, bad smell in the property we had to leave the window open even though it was cold outside.

Really enjoyed our stay here! Check in was a breeze. Place was spacious with lots of sleeping options. Clean, cozy and had a fireplace. Extra linens available. Walkable to all shops and stores in the village was really convenient! Parking in the back was perfect.

The blinds were not properly attached so we couldn't open them and the water dripping constantly in the bathtub couldn't be fixed (work order was for the week after we left) so we had a terrible noisy night trying to sleep. The staff was incredibly friendly though and the location was amazing.

This is our second visit, we have stayed in two different rooms upstairs next to each other. It was so warm when we arrived, the fireplace was on the lights were on to welcome us. The linens were crisp, fluffy pillows and comfy comforters. Impeccably clean. The fridge, the freezer. The stove. The bathroom . It was, and is a place we want to continue to visit. I love that we park, then everything else is done on foot. Perfect location.

Checkin was easy. The room was clean, spacious, and the location cant be beat.

We were only there 2 days but very happy with our experience. the pictures make it look twice the size, i had the impression it was a house/cabin, this is a small 1 bedroom apartment (ours was on the second floor). i am still very happy, just want people to be aware it is not a "stand alone" cabin or anything. Parking was easy in the back lot and surrounded by shops and restaurants and walking distance to the lake.

great location to the action. the bathroom location was not convenient since those using it had to travel through the master bedroom. everything was outdated, but it was fun!

If you are looking for a quiet, intimate place to stay in Big Bear Lake, this is the place for you. It is right In the Village with plent of shops and dining just outside the front door. The ad doesn't do it justice. It is like having a small, furnished apartment rather than a standard hotel suite. Everytime I return, I will only stay here.

Love that the place is in The Village with many shops and restaurants. My husband and I enjoyed walking around and great night life in the evening/night time. We love that the unit has a kitchen for us to cook. The unit is nice and clean. The kitchen needs a little updating, but over all the place is comfortable and makes us feel like we are at home. The staff are very friendly and responsive. On our 1st day, I was in touch via text and she offered some places to eat. Added a touch of personalized customer service. I will definitely stay here again!

Great place to stay in the village. Everything is walking distance.

We stayed there with our three kids for two nights and it is in a prime location. No need to drive anywhere if you’re just going to be around the village. As far as the room… it was ok. Not the nicest but pretty clean.

It’s right where the main shops are, no need to drive. I really liked that & I would definitely stay here again. There is no front desk, instructions were sent to me via text. The person was very responsive when I had any questions about the property. Only thing I can complain about is the water all of a sudden came out freezing cold while I was showering. Happened 3 times, I had to move the faucet to get warm water again & the lights in tue restroom went out for about 30 seconds while my sister was in the shower. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this property! especially with kids.

The first night we got the worst room with the most uncomfortable bed in the world. It was worse than sleeping on the floor and we lost a full day of our vacation because we didn’t get any sleep. Also, the shower was dirty, the toilet was swirling all night, the sheets were stained, and half of the living room was in complete darkness. The hotel switched our room after that night but wasn’t willing to refund the terrible night or give us an extra night so we had to extend an extra day and stay somewhere else.
