This hotel is a real gem. Every room is unique with its own theme based on historic Dutch figures. It was hard for me to choose a room for our 2-night stay so welcomed the fact that when we arrived we were told there was a problem with the TV (not that we came to watch TV) and because of this we were offered a different room for the first night. We were more than happy to do so as it meant we experienced two of their beautiful rooms. We also spent a morning in the private spa. Also recommended. It’s free and you just have to reserve an hour.

This hotel is situated in a perfect and quiet area. Right in the center of everything and a 15min walk to just about anything. The historic features of this hotel are quite spectacular and the breakfast is amazing especially since they bring it to your room. Don’t forget to enjoy the bathtub as well.

Strange concept such as my room was based on a person who in essence was an atheist and his vision was being celebrated on him rewriting the bible.

Great staff and fabulous breakfast. No elevator and 50 stairs to get to the room. Lacks storage space. Refrigerator is tiny and cools poorly. Toilet is loud. City tax is much higher than what I was led to believe by Expedia.

Great room and bathroom
No elevator

Most uncomfortable beds ever. No lift, so if the manager is not here you have to lug your suitcases up yourself.
Rooms are beautiful to look at, but no place to put a suitcase (only on the floor), the bathrooms are tiny with dark lights so forget makeup application. Morning breakfast was excellent.
Except for museum-like experience, not recommended for more than one night and one suitcase.

The hotel is in a great area for walking. Our room,Abel Tasman, was very clean with a beautiful view of the serene outdoor garden. The bathroom is very small!
There was no communication from the hotel prior to arriving other than an option for online check in. Upon check in a deposit was taken on credit card and a breakfast menu was given to chose what you want and what time to be delivered. I loved that they had gluten free options. They showed us to the room and gave a brief instruction on the room’s features. They have no lift but helped bring up our luggage. I did not feel the staff was overly friendly and they offered no suggestions for things to do, restaurants, etc.
The breakfast was lovely but when we asked to fill out the card for the next day they said our choices were for the entire stay. We needed to leave early for airport so they said we could get a juice, fruit and health bar to go. No one would be available to make a breakfast to be delivered to our room before 8:00. We had to leave our luggage down stairs the night before because they said desk person would not be there until 7:45. Adam the manager arranged addition of bread and cheese for our “To Go” breakfast but if he weren’t there we would not have gotten even that! They sent an email for check out online and when I tried to discuss that there was an issue upon leaving the desk person said I had to discuss with manager. They charged my card for something I already paid for and now I have to dispute it.

Our brief stay at the Noblemen was definitely too short, it's an extraordinary and eloquent property tucked away in the center of town! The staff represents a gold standard of service, and one of the things we particularly loved was the included room service breakfast. A full menu to preorder from the night before and then brought to your room at your desired time...we can 't say enough about the beautiful presentation and quality of the food. You gotta try the mini pancakes with lemon curd; fresh juices, croissants , meats, cheeses, coffee choices etc!! You can walk to the museums and shops and restaurants very easily...just make sure to have your phone charged up for the maps, lots of canals and bridges to get you mixed up. Did I mention this is a 400 year old building with some of the most gorgeous marble and artifacts, stunning! Our room was on the first floor with a private garden, outstanding, I believe one of Amsterdam's finest. Quick shout-out to Jim at the front desk for a history lesson about the building and making sure that we were aware of all the amenities available in the room :)

The hotel staff was very accommodating and were able to assist with getting a driver for us and make reservations for dinner.
This hotel is a quaint boutique hotel with each room having a different theme. We stayed in Cornelis Drebbel room! It was fabulous! The hotel served a hot breakfast every morning to our room!
The Hotel is in a great location!

The decor of the room was unique. We stayed in the abel Tasman room decorated to reflect his life as an explorer / seafarer. Very spacious and great bathrooms. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

It was utterly amazing! A fantastic boutique hotel, exquisitely designed; each room is dedicated to a different historical person. Our room was the Michiel de Ruyter, who was a famed Dutch admiral, and our room had a bathtub shaped like a rowboat, full two-person glass-enclosed shower, a closet that closed when you used the steering wheel of a ship, and an actual, expensive, replica of a Dutch sailing ship form the 1600s! There is no room in the world like it. Staff were fabulous.

Amazing experience start to finish. Quite possibly the most unique and beautiful hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. Absolutely loved the neighborhood as well. Don’t hesitate to book this.
4.0
This hotel is unique in that management has spent a lot of research and resources to create an experience for the guest that is special. In a word, you are carried away to the golden age of the Dutch empire of the 17th Century. At the same time, this experience has its limitations.
My wife and I were not prepared for some of the challenges related to staying in our room. Ascending and descending to and from a platform bed two or three feet from the floor, primarily at night, is dangerous! This is particularly true for those of us who may have lost a step or two and are not as resilient as we once were. Once I was on the bed, however, I marveled at the firmness of the mattress. I slept extremely well. It was only when nature called in the middle of the night that I had to be extremely careful.
Additionally, while the subdued lighting added to the ambiance of the room, it was particularly difficult to see when shaving at the sink in the bathroom. There were always shadows that I had to contend with.
My recommendation, refine the ambiance with practicality when possible.

The Noblemen is a very unique hotel that provides a lot of history in addition to comfort and modern conveniences. It is situated close to Amsterdam City Centre in an old, restored row house. The owner chose 13 Danish noblemen and decorated a room for each nobleman. Each room has a painting of the nobleman with his contemporaries that depicts his vocation. We were on the 3rd floor in the P. C. Hooft room. P. C. Hooft was an historian, poet and playwright who lived in from March 16, 1581 to May 21, 1647. Our room contained a bookcase, notes and a writing desk.
The staff was extremely accommodating, ensuring every need, desire and whim was met. Breakfast was included and featured Dutch pancakes, which were delicious!
The one downside for this hotel is that you need to be willing to climb/descend original staircases, which may pose issues for people with physical disabilities.

The Nobleman is as expected-stunning interior design, great staff, excellent location, very lovely breakfast. For us the only downside was that I did not realize our room, Spinoza, was ground floor front. This meant we could not open our windows to get cool air from outside which we like. Otherwise it was wonderful.

The location was perfect - centrally located.

Location was excellent, so was service and breakfast. Our room was on the top floor, so keep in mind because there are quite a few steps to get there.

Gorgeous boutique hotel with lovely rooms in a great location. The staff Adam and Slyvi are lovely, very helpful and kind. This is a great experience I give it my highest rating!

This hotel was absolutely wonderful, spotlessly clean, quiet, with amazing staff and in a fabulous location, a street away from the busier streets, so amazingly peaceful at night. I spent quite some time choosing a hotel in Amsterdam and this was everything advertised and more.

Beautiful boutique hotel with considerable attention to detail. Lots of dining and shopping options within walking distance. Breakfast in room was great.

We had an excellent stay: I would say the staff were amongst the friendliest and most helpful we've ever encountered. The breakfast, served in the room, was lovely; the location is ideal. Our only slight quibble was that our room - not canal-facing - was rather dark. We will certainly return.

Once the shock of no a/c wore off, the rest of the stay was 10/10. The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. A huge breakfast was served in bed every morning. By far the most unique hotel we have stayed in, with each room styled to reflect a historical figure (a Nobleman).
I do have to reiterate as an American used to keeping the room at 68° F, it was a shock to be in a room that at times was in the upper 70’s, but on our second day we bought a small fan to point at the bed and from then on the stay was very comfortable. I would stay here again any time.

I don’t often write reviews but this is a truly exceptional property in terms of the style, ambiance, welcome and location. We stayed in the basement suite with outdoor area where we had our excellent breakfast daily. The spa was next door and we visited it twice. The room was exquisite and we hired bikes form them to explore Amsterdam.
Thanks to Adam and the team - this was a very very special stay

We absolutely loved our stay at The Nobelmen. Our room was so cool, with a great view of the canal. Everything was impeccable, the people were wonderful and we really enjoyed it. From a practical standpoint, the only thing I noticed is there was no mirror outside the bathroom which would have been helpful, and no closet to hang things but those are by no means deal breakers. The location is fantastic as well, close enough to everything but far enough away from the madness of Dam Square. Highly recommend!

Our stay at the hotel The Nobleman was perfect in every way. From the in-room breakfast delivered daily to the rejuvenating on-site spa, we couldn't ask for more. The staff was friendly and helpful, the location was great, and the beds were beyond comfortable. We cannot wait to come back!

This is one of my favorite hotels that I’ve ever stayed in!! From the gorgeous rooms to the excellent service, it was a ten star experience. Every morning, we received a lovely breakfast in our room. You select exactly what you’d like to eat. There is also fresh water brought to your room daily. The hotel is so centrally located - perfect for walking to all the main attractions! I can’t recommend this hotel enough!
